Eugene Asante

Difference between confidence that you can work hard and be good enough to earn it, and a guarantee. The kid is delusional. He wasn't even ranked among the elite in HS.

We have three very solid returning senior 4 year starters and the kid wants a guarantee?

Kid should be humble (even if he has inner confidence) and work to win it.

Don't care where he is ranked, and I never saw it written he wants "a guarantee"...If someone knows that as fact...Then I digress.

I can't think of a better opportunity for a LB recruit than Miami. We have a donut in the LB corps, which means all the freshmen are going to get a look, at least one will be a regular rotational player, probably both, and there is a clean slate in 2020.

The 3 seniors are studs. But after that, Steed's the only one I feel confident will play at a high level. If Wilder weren't injured, he could be good, too. But I don't think we can count on him. And Joyner is a 3-4 DE/LB who will be used situationally. So you have this massive gap until you get to Huff and Brooks.

IMHO, Huff was the best of the STA crew. Love the fact he stuck with us. Brooks is an animal, I felt he was a high 4-star prior to his injury, and now he's back. Asante would complete that package. Hope we get him. He'd be crazy to be scared off by our depth chart.

First off, we dont have 3 senior studs. Second, romeo finley??? third, Steed hasn't proven YET he can be a starter. Huff seems to have star potentional but you are right about opportunity, a kid can legit be a starter in his soph year here.

Would be a shock to see Asante end up anywhere besides FSU. They have serious ties to the DMV area. Hopefully Trevon Hill can open us up a door to that area

I doubt if Hill could help being that he's from Va Beach/southern VA and Asante is from northern Va. Those are 2 different worlds. But I do agree that Miami needs to start pulling a few guys from this area.

Dont sleep on Steed because of who hes behind. Also dont forget about Sam Brooks.

This is a common theme on the board. Posters claim that a kid was guaranteed something, or asked for a guarantee, but have never been present for any of those conversations. I argued about this when it came to Lawrence and Bryant. The poster blatantly made up the fact that Lawrence, was guaranteed by Dabo, to become the starting QB during his freshman year. But never with the accompanying facts to prove it.

People start blowing these truisms out their asses.

We kept sending the name of a very talented but underrated No. Va. LB/DE down to the staff last year but the kid finally signed with UVA. Got no reaction from the staff.
