ESPN goes scorched earth on UM Coaches

A week later and it’s still painful. Apparently Booger McFarland and other ESPN talking heads trashed UM coaches including Mario for horrible effort/gameplan vs GT. GT was a much inferior team and UM was totally unprepared. Speaking of grown ups, I guess you’ve got to be a grown up coach and own it too.

Deservedly so. Good. I'm glad. We had zero business losing that gane, and once again, the coaches failed the team. Doesn't matter what our record is/was, the team got ****ed, and the coaches got exposed.

Two things:

First of all, how great is it that a Miami loss actually gets discussed on national broadcasts? It means they actually give a **** about us enough to use a segment on it. Usually by this point in the season, we’re a long afterthought.

Secondly, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team get roasted more than Bama did when they lost to Vandy. They tend to take it easy in SEC teams because they suck off every program in that conference besides Vandy.

He loves everybody but Mario. Kills him Miami has been doing so well. I’ve always thought it’s because Mario doesn’t kiss their butts and do the “aw shucks”
Thing with them. Literally every other coach in the conference gives interviews etc on that show all the time. Not Mario
He’s a petty old fart. He can be funny at times and likes to hear himself talk.

It was a pathetic coaching effort. We’ve been skirting by 50% of the season, it was bound to catch up.
I hope you are talking about the offense that was averaging 47.4 points per game against FBS and scored only 23 against a defense that was poor at pass coverage which happened to be the strength of the Offense. If you are talking about the Defense which is giving up 32.4 points per ACC game, this was not their worst performance.

I just watched Nick Saban discuss how to stop the Tennessee spread offense with Kirby Smart

Kirby - “we have to get lined up in the correct spots and make sure we are not out leveraged or out numbered”

What a novel concept…..

There’s going to be a reckoning after this bye week. The fire 🔥 that must be burning in Cam to get back on field, boys something bad which way comes .

Can’t wait

Good. Light some fire under their asses… too much relying on Cams arm to save the day every week it feels like since the Florida game. Legit that was the only game I felt we completely outclassed the opponent from the first play till the last.

Mario gets compensated like a champion. He needs to produce champion-esque results.

If he was making $150,000 a year with no NIL support, I'd understand struggling against ACC teams.

Its his THIRD year and THIRD recruiting class. Only 3 of his recruits start on defense, and 4 start on offense.

He's fielding the worst defense in program history in his THIRD YEAR continuing a trend of nationally embarrassing losses.

This is not building us up to be a national powerhouse. Its clear-cut digression.

IMAGINE if he didn't get Cam Ward in the last hour of the off-season.

He brought in Poffenbarger to backup Emory (continuing a trend of bringing in portal backups) and we'd be 5-5 AT BEST right now.

Mario is not a good coach. He's not even good at evaluating talent. He's hand-built to be an Associate Headcoach/Recruiting Director/Director of Player-Personnel.

Make no mistake; this is the funnest season of my entire life. Watching Cam and the boys light up the scoreboard has been great. I'm no mope.

But I know how this ends. We either:
1. Lose out
2. Beat Wake Forest. Lose to Kyle McChord. Come out unprepared and unenthusiastic for the Bowl Game.
3. Lose to the Miami reject squad against SMU in the ACC Championship (where Lashlee will look to get all the former Canes some touches and scores against our defense.)

We're going to waste a once-in-30-years QB, because we have the worst defense of all time. In Mario's THIRD year.

A real leader with high expectations would realize their shortcomings and seek outside help from known and trusted experts because they prioritize winning over anything. Mario's version of that is needing a helper to tell him when to call timeouts.

My version of that would be calling in some favors from Nick Saban and Dan Mullen, bringing them in over the Bye to get some feedback, evaluating your own practices, and adapting to their recommendations.

They will point out things like:
1. Defensive pre-snap alignment
2. Secondary
3. Defensive Line Stunting
4. Lack of cohesion between offensive identity. We have one run play, versus an air raid passing attack. No counters, off-tackle, outside zone, pitch/toss, option...
5. Ignoring tightends
6. Too many screens
7. A QB who (as much i love him) freelances too much

I still think Mirabal has influence in the run scheme, and this would removing that influence.

I have fair criticisms and concerns. I have realistic standards and expectations. The Football program should too.

You're one of the fat guys wearing an XXXL knockoff jersey downing beers who gets to their seats 8 minutes into the first quarter whos happy going above .500 each year, and who screams at the refs every time there's an obvious penalty.

I think you have me confused with someone else.

These are the same C**ts that are justifying how LSU and Georgia can get into the playoffs with three loses. 80% of this board is just like ESPN. The world is caving in at 9 - 1. Mario was 5 - 7, 7-6, and is now 9 - 1. Even when we were undefeated "We are not winning right". Shut the &^%$ up. Yes, I am including the mopes on this board. Celebrate us getting better. Mario is in year three of taking over a DUMP of a program. YEAR THREE! We are 9 - 1. I don't listen to the broadcast. I mute it. Anything I can do to not watch Joey whatever his name is, former wide receiver at Ohio State and the other tools. Some of you guys are pathetic.

Yes
