So sick of hearing about ranked wins. Miami has wins over what is now the 27-28 and 32nd ranked teams if you look at the receiving votes list. Plus GT was ranked if they didn’t get screwed by the refs against UGA.

If there is that big of a gap between beating Missouri, Illinois, Memphis, or something because they have a 20-something beside their name…

My read is that so long as SMU beats Clemson, we're in. If Clemson beats SMU, I think SMU gets that last spot. You can't put an in-conference opponent with a worse record in, let along an SEC team with two less wins.

If SMU beats Clemson, we beat out Bama on account of a better overall record, wins to above .500 teams, and margins of loss at 4 and 5 points. They lost to .500 Vandy and .500 OU (and in this game by 24 points). SCAR has a good argument, but how does a team with the same record jump a conference opponent that they lost to.

assuming a SMU win, the committee picking us could be the easy button for to avoid the inevitable *****, bammer, ole miss dilemma. That of course has its own issues but at least they can argue our/ACC positives. That also makes us the villain and angry SEC fans will direct their ire our way after throwing their initial tantrum.

IF we were to get in, we'd be the 11 or 12 seed. Which would pit us against either the 5 or 6 seed. The teams in those spots would be Texas if they lose, the loser of Oregon/Penn State, or ND. The only team we even stand a chance against imo is Penn State. Texas, Oregon and ND all have great defense as well as good/great offenses. Ewers and Gabriel would both carve us up like a turkey. Leonard and ND would run through our soft as baby **** defense. Yeah our offfense is statistically the best in CFB but we haven't played a defense anywhere close to any of those teams. Blow out city if we play any of those 3.
