I'll commend you for trying to stick to your statement, but ultimately, you had to see this coming when you posted that. Maybe if you would have said top 60 defense, people could have said ok. I'll even accept if you said top 50, but top 5......seriously......

it is very much possible that our D can be a top 5 D next year.. before you start bashing let me explain, College football is not like the NFL, only very few teams perform as expected and sometimes all the stars align. (Perryman has a 1st round type of season, Tracy KILLS it, AQM and Tyrique become a terrors, Chic finally decides to put in major work, Valentine comes back in and day 1 starts to contribute, etc etc)

you know why i love college football? this season is zero indication what next season will be like.

what goes up must come down and whats down will come up. we depended way too much on big play makers (Duke, Dorsette, Morris when he was clutch, etc) vs out-smarting the other team and winning the game by coaching.
