For real we have half the amount of CBs onnthe roster that Bama does, wow.
So miami has the worst year possible... loss to gt, Duke, flu, etc... this is what you get yall act so **** surprise.. and yall aren't new!!

I think Houston had more overall talent than Dallas and we had more players from the Houston area. Most of our Dallas kids came from Carter, I believe, though not all.

Are we even in it for this db?
Probably not, instate Texas just offered him along with uga and bama. All 3 will get visits plus mizzou who has been recruiting him longer than anyone. Miami doesn’t seem like they are getting a visit now

This is the kind of guy you need to get before the dead period. Like, you need to have your head out of your ***, identify him midseason as a player that made a big improvement, and try and get that signed LOI on Early Signing Day. Extend this discussion to Jesus Machado, too.

You're 6-7 Miami. You can't expect to play this game like Alabama or Auburn where you can come in after ESD and think you've uncovered a gem. Everyone is already aware of this kid or will soon be aware of him and have more clout to pull him this late in the cycle. One flip side, a lot of "these types of guys" (late bloomers) are signing earlier and earlier, too, and many others like Rakestraw (in this example, like Machado) take the offers that are there early and aren't available in this period.

Miami tried doing this with DJ Williams, OC Brothers, and a few others last year...these types are going to wipe their *** with Miami at this point.

We have poor recruiting strategy at this point.

My mind is blown , kids are guaranteed playing time here because of 4 **** cb on roster. Yet they go elsewhere where they have 10 cb. Odds are they don’t touch the field for a couple years.
I don't get it either.I remember when we were rolling in early 2000's we lost on a ton of recruits who would say in interviews they loved miami but didn't want to seat for a couple years waiting their turn.Yet like you say these kids now don't seem to care. They are either getting money or they just don't want any part of our staff, especially on defense.

Exactly.

More likely they'll end up transferring because bama will bring 5 more 4 & 5 star dbs next class

That’s it right there. The early signing day has created a gold rush for these late bloomer types. The big boys all re-sort their board in January and look to fill holes with the types of kids that previously would have gone under the radar.

If you’re a late riser like this kid, it is brilliant to wait for the second signing day and see what happens when all the big boys realize they need one more corner and only have to concentrate on filling a few holes as opposed to bringing in a whole class.

The big loser is dumb *** coaches like ours that can’t figure out how to find these kids early and then hold the wolves off.
