Emory Williams [ Not in portal]

No reason to go anywhere right now. First of all, he can’t. Secondly, Beck isn’t playing in the spring. He’ll get all the reps he can handle and if he beats out Luke and Judd for the lead spot, he’s a twisted ankle away from starting here. No guarantee Beck comes back 100% healthy either. He’d be smart to keep working and try to prove in the spring that what we saw in the bowl isn’t who he really is.
I like the guy, but if they are going to run the O we saw with him in there every time he has gone out there, minus the Ball State game, why would he want to stay? It's humiliating.

So what sort of offense should Dawson design for him?

Unless he locks in the backup position in Spring early , probably beneficial for him to portal out mid to late spring. He’ll know by then where he stands.
Spring film should help him with his move as well.

I have an alternate view. I think if the coaches are willing to keep him around, his best bet is to stay at the school, use the scholarship to earn a degree and get things lined up to become a GA. That is if he is interested in staying around football and if he has an interest in coaching.

From all accounts, he's likable and reasonably intelligent. If the coaches are cool with that, I think that's his best life path.

I mean, why transfer to a new school? To do what? He simply doesn't have the goods on multiple levels to play professional ball or even play college ball well enough to get an NIL that warrants making a big move to a different school. He needs to have a dark night of the soul kind of self reflection and ask himself some hard questions.

I hope he's smart and rides it out here as a career backup and then become a GA, get a masters and see if coaching is his thing.

Makes a lot of sense, but if he’s a competitor will likely look for a place to play.
