Elite recruiters on staff

I'd like to understand how he's a great coach. I know you're a coach and have more insight than I do so could you explain?

From the outside, our safety room was supposed to be a strength of this D before the season. Instead it feels like our top 3 safeties have all regressed in either tackling, coverage, or both. CBs haven't improved either.
Cause they suck. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Can’t tell if you’re being serious or not, but I feel like plenty of insiders have said the dude is fools’ gold from UGA. Had no stake in recruiting Cormani, haven’t even seen a tweet congratulating the young man. Seems odd.

We continuously whiffed at DB up until last night.

Now with Coaching maybe you give him a pass given what he’s working with on the field, but it sounds like he won’t be back regardless of whether we think he’s a good coach or not. DVD won’t sit in a recruiting role forever - guess Mario has a decision to make.

One thing that’s for certain - the DB’s and secondary haven’t gotten any better. Maybe that’s on Addae, maybe it’s on the players for not being good enough. I truly don’t know for sure.

2. He's working with kids he didn't recruit. Kids who didn't even know how to play press technique properly when he got here.

You guys put wayyyyy too much stock into on-field performance when it comes to judging position coaches, especially early.
New position coaches don't just magically turn trash into treasure in one off season.
Doesn't work that way.

Ok... I'm not asking him to make All Americans.

But everybody in Canes world considered Kam Kinchens, Avantar Williams, and James Williams to be a very solid safety room. And they flashed some last year.

You would think Addae would at least make them better? But they've not just not gotten better, they've all gotten worse?

Regardless of that, you say he's a great coach. Why do you say that?

a small group won’t want to hear it but Feld is a vital piece in recruiting. Him and his staff can be around these kids all day and everyday. He basically has to become an extension of what Mario wants. So he is likely a big piece of an official visit. He also is going to be responsible setting up the culture Mario wants to create. So his energy that some of you don’t like which is basically one of the most positive guys you will ever meet is going to go a long way in the long term success of this program.

I actually think the DBs have been performing ok and better month over month. Sure they have mental busts but we have FOUR returning starters on D! TS2, Ivey, Flagg, Harvey. Mental mistakes are going to happen with kids getting a ton of PT for the first time. Then you compound it with Ivey and Flagg being limited. We just need to hit on ONE CB this year that can replace Ivey. IF we hit on 2-3, I'd love to see TS2 move to safety while moving JW0 to star or WLB.
I don't like the idea of changing coaching staff just because year one was ugly. Gattis plays bunch formations too much for how bad our OL and WRs are performing. If we shake things up, I'd like to see a new OC/QB, move Ponce to off-field, and bring in a WR coach.

So what’s happened to Rogers, Graves, M. Williams all 4 stars, plus Harris a 3 star from last year’s class? Just about everyone were raving about these dudes and not much in year one. Is this on Addae or the players?

I'm down with his energy and his silly mustache but I hope we get someone else to help with the planning and execution of our strength and conditioning program
 
He didn't make Ivey & Blades into AA, nor did he start average talent Freshman. Clearly he doesn't know what he's doing.

Is Graves that much worse than any of the crap that’s been rolled out there the last few weeks?

The answer is no.

McClain and his mom both mentioned DVD (multiple times) and Cristobal... Neither has ever mentioned Addae as far as I can remember, the main coach that would be coaching McClain.

Multiple insiders on this board have insinuated that Addae has been pretty bad at recruiting as well.

I’ve seen my fair share of practices this year, but you are 100% correct. I don’t know what mistakes he’s making in practice that has him buried on the depth chart. That being said, he’s physically on another level. At 3-5, roll him out there and let him take his lumps.
Love to hear that.

I feel certain it’s a lingering injury, mental side (missed assignments, can’t get lined up, etc) or other logical reason. This staff has no ties to the upperclassman.

They out way too much stock into people who post on here for clout.

But I read on CIS that Banda was the only good recruiter on dIAZ staff and left the bar fully stocked with great players like AW, JW and KK.................
 
It’s a small sample size but it seems that the elite recruiters on the staff are Mario, Field, Strong, DVD and possibly Mirabol- not sure how much is Mario.

The rest of the staff unfortunately hasn’t done much. You could give a pass to the coordinators given their responsibilities. It doesn’t seem like Alabama or Ohio State have great recruiters as coordinators.

Whats crazy is historically the RB and WR coaches have been top recruiters but here they haven’t done a thing. Plus Gattis is tied up running the offense. But at least they’re trying.

Not sure what Addae, Ponce, Salavea, and Wright do. The dline is playing well so maybe you can give the coaches there a pass. Might have to bring Coley in as QB coach since it sounds like ATM is going to make major changes to the staff.
You can’t have all recruiters then you are in trouble. Technicians are important too. So you need a mix
