Exact type of player that’s needed. I’m tired of seeing 280+ edge players with not enough burst or bend. Need players with athleticism, length(pause), and the strength who can set the edge and rush the passer. Also would be nice if the DC wouldn’t stunt them out of the play so much.

I’m getting tired of the stunts. Just man up and beat your guy.

At least with Diaz, the “no gap integrity” D would sometimes lead to turnovers. Forced 31 turnovers in 2017 (best in P5, #3 in cfb) and 25 turnovers in 2018 (#16 overall). If you had a QB like Ward, that D can work even if giving up explosive plays because it gives UM extra chances to put points on the board.

With Guidry, you get all of the downside and none of the upside. UM has only forced 13 turnovers so far this year, and 18 last year. It’s a terrible scheme.
You have a point but recall the secondary we had in 17/18. Jaquan redwine mjack. When those guys left it went down a fair bit

Hopefully, Lowe will only put on a few pounds and gain strength and explosion with a college strength of conditioning program.

I’d rather not see him bulk up to 280-285 end up being a tweener.

I think that’s one of Bain’s issues. Injuries aside, he doesn’t seem as explosive as last year. I’ve always seen him as a pass rusher/EDGE player and not inside at DT.

I also think Bain gained a bit too much weight this off-season and will need to reconstitute his bf %
