2023 Elite 11 2022 Roster & Updates

Our top 11 for today is strictly based on who we thought had the best and most consistent day today, not a list of the best college prospects, which is obviously based more long term projection and upside.

Dante Moore
Jackson Arnold
Malachi Nelson
Austin Novosad
Marcus Stokes
Jaden Rashada
Christopher Vizzina
Avery Johnson
Kenny Minchy
Zane Flores
Emory Williams
So after the first day, Emory is showing that he deserved the invite. We'll see what the following days reveal. But is pretty clear to me that the days of him being 3* are numbered.

From On3:

10. Emory Williams – Miami

Miami has two commits on hand in Jaden Rashada and Emory Williams. The latter turned in the stronger session on Tuesday, showing a good mechanical foundation and consistency on a throw to throw basis. Williams was among the better passers in his group, particularly at the out-of-pocket goal line station. He showed the ability to throw with touch and located some nice throws that would’ve fit into tight windows.

Jaden wasn’t in there top 11 performers.

New Miami commit Jaden Rashadashowed off his arm strength, which is certainly among the best in the cycle. The NorCal native had some strong throws on the day, but also struggled at times with consistency and accuracy. Purdue commit Rickie Collins was up and down on the day. Arkansas commit Malachi Singletonis not ideally suited for this passing setting as he’s more of a rush threat at the high school level. Brock Glenn had a tough time consistently spinning the football on Tuesday. Tulane commit Jaxon Smolik was a late replacement for Nico Iamaleava and held his own among the talented group.

From SI:

13. Emory Williams - Miami

The recent Miami commitment showed a natural release from the pocket, when stepping into throws, or outside the pocket. A good athlete that quickly gained depth during his pass drops to help get into his throwing motion quickly. Williams had multiple back-of-the-end zone passes that were clean and on time. He has a soft touch for passes over the linebackers and in front of the safeties and drew consistent praise from the Elite 11 staff in the process.

16. Jaden Rashada - Miami

Rashada had an up-and-down opening day, but rallied towards the end and finished very strong. His arm talent is undeniable, and his ball placement is without a doubt elite. He was a bit inconsistent throughout the day, especially on the move. It was difficult for him to string multiple good throws together, but he also made some of the best throws of the day as well. It wouldn’t be surprising to see him have a bounce-back Day 2.

Which site was this report from? Cause their rankings are much different from SI

I’m not surprised. Jaden isn’t as polished as Emory. That arm and room to grow is the difference between Emory. That’s why our situation was the best for Jaden.

Jaden Rashada, Pittsburg (Calif.)- Miami

After making his college decision a week ago, choosing Miami, Rashada said it was a huge stress reliever for him. He look relaxed and made some big time throws throughout the camp. There’s a lot to like about Rashada, starting with his 6-4 frame that he can easily add weight to, his smooth throwing motion and his ability to drive the ball down the field. He always looks on-balance, has easy velocity and the ball jumps out of his hand.

Emory Williams, Milton (Fla.)- Miami

Coming into tonight, Williams was a guy we were intrigued to see in person and he didn’t disappoint. He played with consistency on his throws. The Miami commit showed solid mechanics with nice spin on his throws. Physically he has a well developed lower body with a lot of room to add strength and mass in his upper body as well.
Didn’t see this one. That‘s what I originally suspected. Jaden’s arm and room to grow is what separates him.

I wonder if that first tweet with “QB1” in front of Rashada‘s name is in reference to anything in particular. QB1 is something that will have to be earned on Greentree. No matter how big the NIL contract, nothing should be given to anyone.

It’s important to note just like the rankings, these evaluations will differ based on the evaluators’ preferences. Not to mention they’re not all exactly Andy Reid and Brian Daboll out there.

Regardless, cool to see the ceiling that Rashada has get shown off, and nice to see Emory proving he belongs.

Once they hit college those rankings go out the window.it’s great to have multiple good qbs competing to earn that qb1

In most years at the Elite 11, there’s usually a big drop off after the top five or so quarterbacks and the bottom five clearly don’t look like the belong. That wasn’t the case today and trying to come up with a top 11 was difficult as there wasn’t a ton of separation between 8-15.

Today’s workout resembled one of the Elite 11 Regional Camps where the quarterbacks shuttled through five different stations. There was a nice mix of short and intermediate throws along with straight drops and off-platform throws rolling out of the pocket.
