"This is a situation I’ve been internally tracking for a few weeks. When Miami offered Armwood LB Kellen Wiley, I started to get some smoke about a potential parting of ways between Miami and Elijah Melendez.

Melendez hasn’t played a ton of football due to injury, and then early feedback on senior year was iffy. He was kept off the field for a part of his senior opener for disciplinary reasons.

I was of the understanding Miami was going to further monitor the situation over the next few weeks. It’s been a few weeks since then."
