Savannah is pretty different than a lot of Georgia, and there isn’t a quick and easy way to Athens from there either. Not sure how much in-state would matter here.

This and uga hasn’t signed a lot of guys from Savannah in general. That said, will be a tuuuuffff pull

I’m surprised this isn’t happening more.
20+ traffic related arrests in the last year and a half is crazy, especially after a teammate died. There's obviously a culture issue and lack of accountability and discipline in the program. Are they elite talent and development wise? Yeah. But as a parent I wouldn't want my child anywhere near that. That being said, there's a lot of parents that either don't care and just see the $$$ or are just ignorant to the situation.

Is it though? Georgia didn’t sign any top DL from Georgia for 2023 and only about 2 of the top 10 last cycle.

Without looking, I'm gona guess almost all didnt leave SEC county?

2023 was basically evenly split SEC non-SEC

Clemson nabbed two, Ohio State got a few, we got one (Horton was a borderline 4)

The rest were a mix of Auburn, TN, SC and UF

2024 Ohio State snagged the top DL in Georgia, USCw the 2nd ranked, Clemson another. **** UAB signed a 4 star DL from Georgia last cycle.

I don’t think it’s as insurmountable as it seems.

Not to be an insufferable prick with semantics, but I really just meant the south.

A lot of southern kids, especially from rural areas don't feel comfortable moving out of the south, then throw in the big bags linemen get to keep them home its tough. Clemson isnt SEC but its still that SEC country south/their comfort zone/bags.

Keep reading Savannah is different though, fingers crossed.

The other thing that really jumped out when looking at where they wound up, is that **** near every top 200 defensive lineman (not edge) is from the southeast.

I suppose so. I didn’t read “SEC country” just SEC. Either way, Ohio State is getting quite a few these last few cycles. Griffin is a different beast though certainly.

This kid would be one of the biggest pulls in the last two decades if we can somehow pull this off. A 5* top recruit from a state like Georgia…
