I'll start taking the loss of Edwards and/or Henderson to heart if Carpenter gets his offer. Not even going to watch the kid's tape because I'm not in the mood to talk myself into a Plan C kid.
 
Anyone who has followed UM closely over the years has seen this movie before. UMs chances of landing elite recruits is slim. It's been for a while. We actually had a program set up during the Butch years and I'm not talking about Shapiro. Let me rattle of some names of guys who were top local recruits that were commited or we recruited them like mad to only have them spit in our face.

Just some names that come to mind.

Patrick Peterson (Johnson)
Ali Highsmith
Corey Lemonier
Dwayne Bowe
Calvin Ridley
Alex Collins

Those dudes were bought. They practically lived on campus the amount of times they visited. Stacey Coley was a Nole but his HS COACH was cane. Very rarely there are a few kids who don't care about bags (AR82) and others like Duke Johnson. But for every 1-2 of those guys there are 5 who have a hand out. Been saying for along time. Elite kids are not recruited.... they are bought. You thinks schools are going to waste time with a sales pitch to Lingard? Yea maybe Duke or Syracuse. But Bama, LSU, FSU are gonna walk in half way through their senior year and present an offer. Simple as that. I find it hysterical watching our coaches run lapse around the country and hosting a recruit 20 times. Pay them secure a public commit and walk away. An extra 50 for them not to take visits. Why waste your energy when u can keep it simple

But I thought staff was looking at him as a safety.
Edwards and Henderson are corners so idk if his offer has anything to do with them.

Edwards been on Miami campus dozens of times, Hendo been on campus so much he practically lives there, UF don't even be on these kids that heavy & they just snatch'em up... You wanna take a wild guess how?

You tell no lies. Devonte Smith and Whoopie McFarland are two from this year as well. CJ going to Florida is more about his daddy and Shannon than bags IMO. Jerry Jeudy could be a $$ thing although Bama did have other built in advantages.

But my follow up question is why do you join the mope brigade in bashing Richt and the staff knowing how handcuffed they are? The only recruiting mishap this year was not having backups for McFarland. They've scratched together the 13th best class through all this BS and might even up right around 11 if they get Dean, Thomas, and Harley and keep the current commits.
 
So you're saying Henderson and Edwards are elite players? I know Juedy is this cycle and Donaldson. Maybe a couple of others in SFL...
