an update on Warren Easton linebacker Edward Williams -- he wants to sign with Texas Tech -- his parents will only sign the NLI for Tulane

Tony Landry ‏@palandry3
It is an awkward situation with Edward Williams, to add a little fuel to the fire, if he is 18, do the parent's need to sign.

Hoping this is a joke due to the Collins situation, but it doesn't seem that way. These are from about 20 minutes ago

Also, I know you have to be 21 to sign an NLI without a parent. Just included the second tweet even though it is wrong to show more than one person is talking about this.

Well, we know how wrong the media can be. So I dont think that means he WONT sign with Miami, at least until I see a signed NLI.

I got my hopes up for anything else than him signing with us.

The ESPN site says he took four officials: Oregon St, Texas Tech, Lousiana Tech, and Arizona.
The Rivals site says he took four officials: Oregon St, Texas Tech, Lousiana Tech, and Tulane.

One site says he has two officials left, and others say he wants to go to TT but his parents will only sign a LOI to Tulane. But his whole signing got postponed when we offered. Just goes to show how reliable the media is.

Also, we probably wont hear anything from our staff about it until they sign. They cant talk about recruits. So I'm sure this dead period of information has Golden working towards some key guys that we have been drooling about on here.

Williams and Lawson

I read that is parents will only sign for Tulane but if he takes other visits then maybe he can convince them as it loks like distance is a key factor

Hopefully education is a big factor in their Tulane interest. Miami compares well to all the other schools he's interested in.

If its true about the parents then its either us or he goes to a lower school but closer to home its almost like the Collins situation which can reallly be bad

I thought Tulane was supposed to be a pretty good school. I don't know how the schools compare now, but when I was considering colleges, years ago, there was no comparison: Miami was nowhere near Tulane. Tulane was considered one of the elite of the southern schools, Miami was not. I guess Miami has improved a lot. I'm not sure you can prove it from the idiot posters on this board, but they might not be UM students.

That's impressive. If his parents are interested in quality education, that should impress them. Both are small, private universities. I read an old post on a Texas A&M website that was once a commitment to them. I don't know if that's true.

I hope he and his parents visit pretty soon. I think they'll be impressed. This kid could help us.

His main interest is getting to the NFL. He made that pretty clear.
I don't know the numbers but I'm almost certain we have more players in the NFL than the Green Wave.
We probably have more players drafted in 1 year then Tulane does in 10.
