Talk that **** on Jeff if you want to. Jeff has upside through the roof. His problem was he just started playing the game. You do understand his uncle is a diamond club donor right? That would get your nephew a ship right now if you wanna finish off donations for the ipf.

Im just saying everybody knows why he got a offer. I dont know what kind of player he can be. His highlights showed a lot of passes getting throwed directly to him.

Now youre looking at apples & oranges brother. The vast majority of dbs high school tapes show passes basically getting thrown to them especially in high school football in Florida where qbs are conventionally simply athletes put at the spot because they can move around & make something happen. Not exactly a great recipe for stud qbs.

Thats a good point but it doesnt help james case. If he is good enough to play here is still to be determined.

True indeed. In my opinion Jeff has a very good future ahead of him. He'll be in the rotation this year but we'll have to see how much he can carve out a spot for himself at free. Sortve helps that's a weak spot for us next year. All these kids here or coming in this year are shook over next year's class. As a db you know those boys are dogs coming in. Redwine time is running thin at any spot. People would be shocked if they really understood how few of these kids should really be playing at UM. When I was in school & most of our time as a dominant program even our walk on spot were vital because they all helped compete & develop kids. That was back when we used to simply look who were the kids that clearly had that dog in them. We'd get them here than figure out a position later. Look at Dan Morgan & you'll get no better example.

Brooklyn, when you played here, can you share who were some guys that you knew were dogs the minute they stepped foot onto Greentree? Same question vice versa - hyped guys that came into greentree with a lot of hype but you knew the guy had no dog in him and never really panned out? Just curious if you would share...

I don't think people really realize how big of a get it would be to land Lingard... Literally the best RB we would have since Duke.

I think he's the most important player for us to land for 2018...

But I gotta be honest, I'm not very confident in this staff's ability to recognize that these are the kinds of things you have to do in order to land an Elite 5-star like Lingard.

He's definitely very much interested in us, I just hope to god we don't drop the ball with this kid.

But what about the infamous SEC bagmen?

Are you insinuating that bagmen don't exist? LOL if you are.

So if we sign the 2 star friend what happens when the bagmen swoop in and grab Lingard and Williams?

Simple. It would be predicted on Lingard and Williams faxing in their signed LOI before we fax over an official scholie to their Homey.

Homey is 2017 and Williams is 2020, so does homey have to wait until 2020 to matriculate?

Young people today don't communicate that way. Kids send an email, for example, for issues that less than a generation ago would have required a face to face meeting. I have to tell college students to come see me. Social media and texting has changed how they communicate in fundamental ways. Sometimes it's nuanced. Here you have a kid making an announcement rather than speaking directly face-to-face. Obviously, it's more comfortable for him to just make the announcement because there is a social distance between he and our staff. For those of us who are used to face to face communication or at the very least picking up a phone and calling someone to address a need, this mode of communication, although commonplace today amongst youngsters, is a foreign and less effective means of communicating. Pretty sure Notsince1985 has a similar experience with his students.

Every single school is recruiting Lo, so you can imagine how many reached out last night. For some reason our fan base is all of a sudden standing on moral high ground. Here is something to think about, LJ is graduating this year and the season has been over for a month now, so why would Lo just randomly send out this Tweet? Could it possibly be that MULTIPLE power 5 schools interested in him have already made the offer? Could it be that he wants the school he's most interested in to make the same offer? This **** isn't rocket science.

Why not just call the HC rather than tweet it then?

I'm sure he's got a direct line to the HC of every school he's interested in.

Exactly. Why the subterfuge? Why the necessity in tweeting it? It's as simple as picking up the phone and contacting our staff and let them know what his "terms" are.

Don't get me started

Far as dogs none of em stood out more than nate webster,al blades, edge,ed reed. Really we could go on & on about that. Nate was a straight savage. He started a fight with Dan Morgan on a recruiting visit over his number & nate never even wanted the same number. It was just different then. People credit butch but honestly we all held each other accountable. If you didn't get right you'd get your *** beat & never knew where it was coming from. Far as the over hyped I really don't wanna do that but I'll say one reciever with the initials of jj. Yall figure the rest out. That's what we need to get back to holding the man next to you accountable.

For the record: I don't believe for a second that we will land two five stars if we take this Coleman kid. I have a hard time believe ing Lorenzo will end up here, regardless of how much he is rumored to favor us.

Just don't see it happening.

I can be wrong, and hope I am, but highly doubt it.

On June 10, 2011, Webster was indicted for sexual battery, gross sexual imposition and five counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor. He is charged with having *** with a 15-year-old girl, the daughter of a former assistant coach for the Cincinnati team, and was arrested on July 21.[3] According to an indictment unsealed subsequent to his arrest, Webster used guns to intimidate the girl into keeping their relationship quiet. The girl said he told her if she revealed the relationship, he would kill her and her family,

Yea it would be nice, but who knows. He might commit at some point, but will he sign the NLI is the question?

City you gotta think about this here. This is what I mean about people just saying stuff though. How can you question if this staff understands what it takes to sign a player like him when richt in particular is known for reading in #1 ,2,3 etc backs, qbs etc. This stuff isn't new here. Everybody wants to question this staff for absolutely no reason. We haven't even seen the class of their first full year let alone a couple years in. Some things are simply logic. They ain't new to this stuff at all

Webster was one of my all-time favorites. He was an absolute beast his final year here. Then, he messed up with that fax to the NFL, and we got robbed of what truly would have been an incredible senior season.

Thanks for sharing. Not surprised at those guys and while I was an avid practice follower back in that time, for the life of me, I can't think of who JJ is. :/

I'll have to dig up a picture that I took alongside Perry and Freeman one of those years. Those guys were enormous.

Brooklyndee, that's a good point you bring up about the dbs here and coming looking at the studs potentially arriving in 2018 and taking over.I'm sure that has scared some away even though playing time is there right now for the taking. If these guys don't clearly stablish themselves as starters this season the 18kids could blow by them quickly especially the EEs.

Huh? Come on man. Yall gotta stop this **** already. What real reason can yall come up with to talk so ****** about this staff? Look at waymon steede & Pinckney before you say something like that. I'm assuming you said it because of nates size. Because as of a player nothing against steede or pinckney (who I think is a monster)but nate is a HUGE man trapped in a 5'10 5'11 at best frame. Honestly I ain't trying to insult no one but if yall really are canes fans then it's time to stop the bull****. Time to sign on & support this staff & squad. There really is no serious reason not to. It's one thing to have some doubts. But until they have ample time to prove you right or wrong then try positivity & do yall parts here. Our fan base seriously is exhausting & embarrassing. Before anyone does the usual well look at other fan bases or it happens everywhere or there just trolls, understand I don't give a **** about that stuff. All I care about involves this university & it's crazy how any real fan can't see the same.were gonna be fine whether people support us or not but **** would it be a he'll of alot more enjoyable if we didn't all battle with each other over dumb ****.

That's the thing,it's clearly known right now by the kids were recruiting now who is definitely coming in next year. It's a wr & db it's well known we have plenty of goons already solidly on board & more to come. Don't let these fake knowledgable people fool you bout stuff. I'm not gonna put a name on anyone but some people just play into yall fears & get love for that.

Ahhhhhh. My bad. Nate sortve developed the attitude. Personally I just think nates bipolar & never been diagnosed. On the field especially if everyone is doing their part nate is great & he's a beast. If people are messing up that beast becomes destructive. Football wise he never really gave a public problem. We had plenty of people you were accountable too. Once you hear them hoots you just know get out the way & leave the locker room clear. Him & al used to Crack me up. It was obvious who was who Santana was a real dog too. Lil as he was he was fighting for every inch of what he got with teammates & opposing teams. That's what I try to instill in my nephew. He sees how **** gets dirty at img & he takes offense to it rather than playing the same way. He don't understand at that level everyone is sharks out for blood. I'm trying to get that alpha male in him. It's more than just football that makes you successful at this level. Believe it or not Pinckney is a Lil hothead too. Not to nates level but he's got a Lil of him going on.
