Duke Johnson

Needs to come up big Saturday if we want to beat F$U. I know he is a beast, but there is a pattern forming in which he doesn't perform in the big games as much as he does against lesser opponents. In fact, he has yet to pass 60 yds rushing in the big prime time games. I hope he comes out and rushes for 300+, because if we can't run the ball God knows we aren't capable of throwing it at the moment.:ohlord:

Notable Games:

2012

@ Kansas St: 6 att 19 yds
@Notre Dame: 8 att. 22 yds
Home vs. FSU: 9 att. 27 yds

2013
Home vs. UF: 21 att. 59 yds

I liked this garbage by complete accident. Don't worry, that neg is coming soon

Watch Duke on the first kickoff return. If he runs with authority, he's ready to play. If he runs like he's punch drunk....he's a no show vs another big opponent.

Thanks for deducting reputation from this user.

That's last year's troll.

This year's troll is "Duke is injury prone"

I think it's going to be tough sledding for duke, especially early.. if we refuse to throw and run duke into stacked boxes it's going to be game over quite quickly

why would FSU or anyone stack the box against Miami?

they're not playing against Logan Thomas.

I am sorry but why hasn't there been a thread about how fu_cking ugly Famous **** is?

am I the only one who sees a deformed Mr Potato head with pubes for hair throwing a perfect pass?

because they know we really want to run, a nd because if you're going to pick your poison, you see if SteMo has got it vs. testing duke

While it may be an obvious observation, it doesn't mean it isn't true. If we can run the ball on them consistently it changes the entire complex of the game. This is a game where we must be successful running the ball to open up the passing game. On top of that, TOP will be huge as to keep **** off the field. 3 and outs will kill us.

i'm just saying a team in the top 3 isnt going to change what they do until somebody makes them have to..... if Duke goes off then they may start stacking the box but i seriously doubt they are going to come out immediately and do something like that.

Duke has to show that he can dominate against their regular plan of attack first.

Except that the entire premise of thread (started by an obvious Nole troll) is stupid. If the OL gets dominated, as it was in the games held up as evidence, Duke isn't going to do anything on the ground. It doesn't have ***** to do with Duke not showing up in big games.

Its not Duke that needs to step up. Its the OL that has not played well against great teams. Duke will do his thing if given the chance. In the second half against UF, he had guys in his face by the time he got the hand-off. I don't care who you are if your OL is getting their asses handed to them, you don't have much hope to put yards.

They will not stack the box but they do intend on blitzing as much as possible. They can't stack the box because they are not playing against a one trick pony. We do have weapons on the outside. Their strategy will be to try contain our run and force Morris into quick decisions. That being said, our deadliest weapon might end up being our quick screen passes to the edge. It negates the blitz, and against the man they love to run, it can eat them up if ran properly

Agree with you 100%, I guess the topic just got me focused on what I really think will allow us to stay punch for punch with them. OL opening holes and the combo of Duke and Dallas being able to gain 4-7 yds on a regular basis on 1st and 2nd down with maybe a big gainer or two thrown in there. If we can run on them like BC did we can win this game. BC just didn't have the horses to hold up against FSU for 4 quarters. We do if we play that kind of game.

Exactly, its like how someone on this board said Sammy Watkins was a ghost against FSU, nevermind the fact that his QB was ****ting down his leg all **** night.

Big players make big plays in big games. We all know what Duke can do, we love his attitude, we love his heart and determination. This is his time to make himself a Canes legend. I think he hits 150 and we win. Interesting question, what is his magic number that would equate to a UM win?

Expecting the world out a True freshman not named AP is ridicioulus...

Duke has been balling well stated he's scheduled for 2300 all purpose yards... He's been doing something right
