Duke Johnson 2013 Statistics Predictions

Duke had about 11 touches per game last year and ended up with 977 yards rushing. If you double his touches, then that would put him at roughly around 1954 yards rushing... i think he carries the ball 20 times per game.

1800 yards rushing 20 TDs

500 yards receiving 5 TDs

1200 yards KR 5 TDs

3500 total yards (all purpose) 30 TDs

here is why this won't happen..

we have other ways of scoring. If our team was mainly run driven i get this, but I see Coley going after our receivers, I see our TE's getting thrown their way etc.

EVERY team we play will try to cover Duke as much as possible which should leave holes open for Morris to target

With Duke and Morris teams are really going to have to try and force one of them to beat them. I am not sure we give him 20 carries a game but I bet he has a good bit more big runs and I think he catches more out of the backfield.

Heisman??
I'd be happy with ACC offensive player of the year. With all the hyped up talent on Clemson & FSU that would not be a bad accomplishment at all.

Let's say, conservatively, that Duke touches the ball 15% more per game (Everything). Based on the averages above, here is what his 2013 season would look like over 12 games based on his output in 2012.

Attempts: 160
Rushing YDs: 1089
Rushing TDs: 12

Receptions: 31
Receiving YDs: 254
Receiving TDs: 1

Returns: 31
Return YDs: 1026
Return TDs: 2

Let's say Duke touches the ball 20% more.

Attempts: 167
Rushing YDs: 1136
Rushing TDs: 12

Receptions: 32
Receiving YDs: 265
Receiving TDs: 1

Returns: 32
Return YDs: 1070
Return TDs: 2

My guess is Duke will touch the ball 20-24 times per game. Last year he touched the ball 16 times per game.

2500 Total Yards and 17 Total Touchdowns, this would be my conservative guess.

If Duke doesn't get 220+ carries this year, something went terribly wrong.

Just rushing? 18 Per Game?

It could happen, would just mean IMO that others cannot pick up some of the slack.

Didn't someone ask Coley how many carries a game Duke would get and he said 20-25?
That's around 250 caries for the year.
If that happens I can see 1900+ yards rushing breaking Willis' UM single season record.

My Prediction:

Rushing
200 carries
1300 yards
12 TD

Receiving
35 catches
300 yards
2 TD

Returns
30 returns
800 yards
2 TD

Exactly and that is why Duke is going to have a big year regardless.

I mean you cant have everyone thinking about him and not the other various talented receivers, tight ends, and other running backs on the team or they are going to get lit up on the scoreboards even if you do focus on containing Duke.

I honestly think my prediction is somewhat conservative especially if you compare them with his stats from last year.

For 12 games, that's almost 19 a game. For 13, it's like 17.

Not suren he can handle that load, so I hope you're wrong. 205-215 would be ideal.

He's not a full time, 20+ carries a game back, he's just not.
