How I felt getting this update

Man.. I was about to post 2 days ago that things had gone eerily silent with him when it seemed like a commitment was inevitable and imminent. Had a feeling something was going on.

What am I missing here though with this young man.

3rd string at Ole Miss.

Not much noise out there on him, seems to be coming, etc.

OSU, all of a sudden jumps into the mix? They're stacked typically.

I get us looking at him, we need bodies. Them though, I don't get that.
OSU just loves cucking us. Wouldn’t be surprised if SFE got to him somehow with that slick bag drop.

Tywone had the same production as one of their projected starters at 2-Tech, Ty Hamilton.

Most of their depth is young upcoming guys who have potential but haven’t broken out yet, like Tyleik Williams & Hero Kanu. Will Smith Jr is a True Frosh & won’t be ready right away, so they need more depth.

Tywone has upside & athleticism & is a New Jersey kid which is an area Oh ST recruits really well.

That’s why they’re going after him.

I didn't have a clue what their depth chart looked like going into this upcoming season.

They usually have savages there, but why not take a chance on a body I guess if nothing is set.

Thanks for the in depth response.

Man here misunderstand what the portal is. Yeah u can drop a bag and entice man like Bear and Addison into the portal. Most of them that willingly enter, either are not good, or talented but havent produced, or produced at a lower level, whether G5 or FCS. U not taking starters from other schools that easily, its not just about NIL only, they can change school and scheme and mess up their NFL prospects if it goes south when they leave familiarity. If u bring in talent like this Tywone guy, thats as good as it gets. Change of environment might unlock the potential like Jalen Phillips and Rambo etc.
I agree. Even guys with playing time may not be all that.

We were excited when we got Terry Roberts from Iowa. After the Spring, he's not even in the top 4 CBs as grad transfer. He was going to be a big piece in the Iowa defense. Now, he can't crack the 2-deep at Miami.

Sometimes these young men do themselves a disservice by jumping in the portal.

I don't think Gore at DT should have been a take. He's undersized. He will only see the field occasionally on 3rd down. That's it.

He was better off staying at Georgia State where he could play every down against G5 competition.

The same thing happened to Antonio Moultrie last year. He was a really good player for UAB at the G5 level. He barely got any PT when he transferred to Miami.

I really wish we'd stop reaching on the guys in the portal.

And Kiffin was punishing him for playing baseball. It’s really why he’s leaving. Kiffin called him out publicly saying “guys typically choose one or the other” and then following it with “those guys are all here for spring working and battling to get better”…etc. etc.

I hadn't heard that either.

I do get what Kiffin is saying though. It'd be nearly impossible to do both in the Spring.

Come fall though, he'd have to put aside that feeling if his player could help the team.

I get it too. Does this kid have a legitimate future in baseball like he does football?

If he doesn't then it's time to move on and commit to football.
