DT Recruiting

We need more, redshirt them while we have depth, I'd rather have two dts this cycle than have 2 safeties. Especially when we took 3 last year and and have one committed and Brian Edwards can play safety. At the end of the 2017 season the seniors Moten, Jenkins, willis will be gone, the starters Norton and McIntosh could be gone. We'd be stuck with Fines, Martin and Ford as the dt group.

Newberry has 2 4-star DTs this year (Parks and Durden)....

Don't know how good they are, but they're rated highly, like Ford....

Theresa no quality dt in the state of Florida this year other than ford who is already committed and the kid uf got( Jordan Scott) is his name I believe. No point in reaching for anybody

Forgot about them but they both are fsu legacy players. Locks to play for them

we got moten jenkins norton mcintosh willis all returning next year

And they all could be gone in 2018.

We need to recruit another impact DT, 2018 has the potential to be down right scary. As in Fines, Martin, Ford, and any 2018 DT signees.

It is unbelievable just how often people on this site bring up DT recruiting without ever saying anything different. We all would like to have 2 top DT's committed per year. Sometimes that doesn't happen, especially if theres no one clearly worth the offer. Don't you think if there was an elite guy in south Florida to go along with Ford that the staff would be recruiting him?

Also, Defensive Tackle is very arguably our strongest position heading into next year.

We should all be worrying about next year with regards to WR, DB, and OL (particularly C and OG)

Anybody else concerned with the lack of DT recruiting? I understand the argument that we have a decent amount on roster but it's one of those positions like quarterback that you need to add to every year due to the physical nature of the position. This is the same thing we did the first few years of the golden staff and we paid the price dearly later for it. What gives?

We are the most critical fan base ever! Why so many here think they know more than the MF'ers who been doing this ***** for years amazes me! We finally get a HC and Staff that knows what they are doing and we got people questioning their recruiting decisions! I'm sure CMR, Diaz, Kool etc know if they need more than one **** DT. Problem is you have know idea what their plans are for the existing and committed defensive linemen.

I want 1 more DT mainly because I want in a perfect world we would sign at least 2 dts every year but next season we may have the best front 7 in the whole ACC and that says a lot especially with more time for Kool to do his magic

This is where I'm at. Yeah, we're stacked right now but just like we're stacked, we'll be depleated in a blink of an eye. You have to have stagger. Besides, taking 2 DTs in 2 recruiting cycles (Martin and ford) when one of them needs a lot of development is not the position you want to be in. Jmo

There is no way Norton, McIntosh and Willis all leave at the same time before exhausting their eligibility. One, maybe two at most leave early. If things go perfectly, one of them will be a backup looking at a big role in 2018.

I'm glad you're not our main recruiter - we'd be in bad shape.

I didn't realize Florida was the only source for DTs?

Who else is Miami in play for nationally at dt? If coach kool the best dline coach in the country doesn't seemed pressed to land another one then you shouldn't either
