Great news for the working class American.
Great news. Get in him in shape and ready to contribute by mid season.
I don't see him playing this year. Like most think he will probably redshirt this year, but be a big part of the DT rotation next year.
I think he is better than Martin and Fines and therefore I believe he plays this year. Injuries happen and that will push him into some type of role in the latter parts of the season.
I don't see a need to make a concerted effort to redshirt Ford. If Kool can coach him up, with his natural talent, he won't be here 5 years. Plus, we may need him in a major way next season.
If he's simply not ready to play, then sure, redshirt him.
Pete don't sleep
Let him play against Bethune and Arkansas State so that Norton, McIntosh, Molten can rest.
Toledo, Syracuse, Duke, Virginia are also near certain opportunities for the backups to play a lot.

Ford is kind of raw to begin with and then he is coming in late.

and once again the "redshirt" monster raises his head.. So he takes a shirt, then balls out for the following 2 years and is gone.. Or he doesn't shirt, learns some things this year, then balls out the next 2 years and is gone.. Can you explain the difference ??? gone in 3 years if he is any good.
Another thing with this staff that I like is how they get everyone they sign in. Idk if admissions gives Richt more leeway or he's just simply better at evaluating transcripts but whatever it is I like it.
Golden was truly a used car salesman. The guy would release recruiting news after big losses to make it look like we were headed in the right direction. ****, he used to have press conference for JAG juniors announcing they would be returning for their senior seasons. It's no surprise he'd sign kids who had no chance of enrolling just to make his classes look better
"If he's any good he'll be gone in three years anyway" isn't always the case.
Not that he should redshirt, but many of our best players have stayed for 4 or 5 years.
