It’s great to see these consistent reports of the freshmen making noise

Rankings are nice but we know it all too well

I remember the infatuation with guys like Williams and Taylor but the guy who kept being mentioned was Kinchens

We need these freshmen to be better than the competition for sure

How big is Collins right now? He looked super skinny to slide inside at this point in his career.

We have been around too long to fall for it anymore (I think)

With this kid it’s tough because it’s on the DL. Pretty tough to contribute at that spot this fast. Need that grown man strength in there.

Nathaniel Joseph is the guy I’m most excited about from this class early in the season which is good because we need guys like him. Lack of explosive plays last year and all.

Looking forward to seeing what this kid can do. Kid has a motor. Hopefully seeing Horton and Bain on the field at the same time will be a real treat!

Not surprised. Kid is extremely twitched up and has elite size *pause* to go with it. He will need to be coached up (like all 18 year old true freshmen DL) because he literally was nothing but swim moves and penetrating gaps in his tape. He’s gonna have to learn to use his hands and play behind his pads but if he does then watch tf out.
 
He looks good. Obviously, gotta get stronger. Kind of looks like the JHH, RJ McIntosh types. I assume he gets bigger than that. He may very well be already. Huge arms, too. Once he learns how to really use them. He's got a lot to work with. Hope things bank right with him.

I terms of this year it became obvious to me watching the Spring game that Bain is ready to play as a true freshman. I was expecting him to be a talented kid with a great motor but I was honestly shocked by how polished he looked for a player his age. Bain shows great fundamentals and technique to go with elite level explosiveness and an overall natural feel for the position and the game in general. I feel that Bain can be effective for us as an inside pass rushing threat on obvious passing downs. He is a high floor player who also has great potential for growth and improvement.

Collins is a different type of prospect. He is long and freakishly athletic with a tremendous ceiling but he is a bit raw and not as polished as a kid like Bain. When it comes to a prospect like Collins I think it's easy for some to just assume that he will just slide inside and maybe he will but he is going to need to gain more functional strength and learn to play with leverage in order to be effective inside. In short I think Collins is a year away. Of course this is just speculation on my part and the kid might get 8 sacks this year.

Also Wayne is a stud and the drop in the rankings was laughable to me. He’s build like a legit D end. Great to hear about Horton because we need someone to step up
