Phillip Dorsett, WR, Miami (Fla.)
Teammate Artie Burns certainly has a case of his own, but Dorsett is a tick faster as a sprinter and, on the field, as a wide receiver. He's reportedly run as fast as a 4.29-second 40-yard dash, posted a 10.58-second time in the 100 meters last month and could be primed for a breakout year if he can limit his drops.

He's a blazer, and anyone suggesting he is not an asset -in spite of his drops- is nuts. Dude is good for 1k; Coley is good for 1k; Duke should be good for 1k.

We have the potential to be LETHAL on offense.

I love Dorsett and believe he is the best on our deep as a deep threat. With that said, I don't think we are hurting for deep threat WR's without him, but he is the best on our team for it. If Dorsett had better hands (his hands aren't horrible, just not great), he would be a stud. Kind of reminds me a bit of benjamin and even shields. God **** shields dropped everything at WR though.

PD is a fairly underrated, imo. He's obviously not a "Stacy Coley" type talent, but he had 58 for around 850 yds as a soph and very few are of Coley's talent level. Too much is made about his hands and shiftiness and little said about his ability to separate in the second level. He plays an important role in that receiving core.

We've had that potential for a few years now. I'm not 100% against Coley as a playcaller yet as its only year 2, but I am a bit concerned if he can make us that lethal offense.

I agree. I remember seeing people here and on rivals acting like Dorsett was some kind of bum and I was amazed to think, what these guys are looking for. Dorsett has the makings to be a good one. I think he has enough moves that I'm not worried about his shiftiness. I think he could improve his hands a bit, but I don't think they are horrible, just needs some work.

We have a luxury at WR. We have a guy who can do everything on the field. Possession(Work the middle of the field), Speed(Blowing top of defenses; big play), Big WR (Back of the endzone fades). If we can get Olsen or Kaaya to take advantage of these talents and JUST LET THEM WORK. Our Wr's gotta step it up too though. I know this new group has more experience, but i dont want to see situations we put SteMo in by not getting open for him. I think Stacey Coley will be that Go-to Guy for this season though. []_[]

I don't recall Dorsett having the dropsies this past season. That ND game is in the past now. PD was solid last season before he got injured.

I think he's going to put up big numbers this season. Dude is open on almost every passing play. I hope Olsen uses him to the fullest.

I guess this is why I didn't understand the "hands" argument against him. The ND game was bad, but other than that game I don't remember much of anything regarding him dropping balls. A lot of great receivers drop balls in big moments (Jimmy Graham, Irving Fryar, etc..).

It would be a travesty if this group of Wr's never realize their full potential here due to below to average qb play.
I don't care who it ends up being but they better get these gotdam studs the ball.

Dorsett is a badass always has been . Be it not for a couple drops unfortunately on the biggest of all stages ,last years injury and suspect quarteback play he probaly would be mentiond with andre Johnson and santana moss

Lol. In full pads, I don't think the jamaican relay team could handle Duke, Coley, Dorsett and Burns!

So much speed and talent at the WR position. They're gonna look awesome standing on the sideline while we trot out there with (multiple) mediocre TE's.

SMH

Very underrated player.

Would not be surprised if he goes Day 2. John Brown (Homestead kid that went to Pittsburg St.) went 3rd round after burning up the 40 and they are similar types of athletes.

I'm sure you're joking. You've gotta be....right?

PD is good, but not elite. We'll see what he does this year and hopefully it works out.
