If UM sits back in soft zone and lets wr and te run free - FSU will score at will - FSU does not turn the ball over often, so UM must challenge them and take it away - maybe game plan some off of BC

UM needs to have the mentality of BAMA on D - not want to give up one inch much less a yard or first down - I know we are not BAMA but that mentality serves them well as their D has improved throughout the year -

Bama runs as much zone as any team in the country.

We consistently brought 5 against UNC, but UNC ran a lot of quick plays and kept a back in to block other times. There's not magical scheme to beat offenses, the players have to make plays, the blitzers weren't getting there and McCord and AQM were shut down for a majority of the game.

The only thing I didn't like in the UNC game is the obviousness of when the DL was running stunts. We'd put McCord or AQM (or both) inside and run them around the DTs slanting in, made it fairly obvious.

Yet Head coaches and defensive coordinators get fired by the dozens every year for fielding ****** teams... Obviously they weren't doing something right...If they new so much about football and were such experts why the **** are they getting fired? Doctors know more about medicine then me but i know a bad diagnosis and a botched surgery when I see one..

Of course they make mistakes, they all make mistakes. The best and the worst make mistakes but...

It's not so easy to play this defense when your QB gives them 4 extra possessions (4 TOs). We held them to 6 points after halftime and if our D doesn't do that we lose the game because our QB was having issues.

Actually you wouldn't know a botched surgery, would you know which tendon was being repaired? Would you know about cerbrovascular system? Probably not. Sure if someone is dead or if someone had his wrong hand removed, you could tell but in the end you wouldn't know much.

UNC was unable to do much with the 4 TO, I wonder why? Must have been that prevent D.

You're a GD idiot. Miami fielded the youngest defense they've had in history. That's how bad it got under that incompetent stooge Radio Charmin. That's why the defense was **** last season. It had nothing to do with scheme as this year is proving. Nobody expected the jump in defense like we've had but now that's not even enough for the Coach D haters. They want a Bama product on the field this year after being one of the worst defenses in the nation due to youth. How about letting Golden and Coach D continue to recruit like madmen and develop the talent at defense. The defense is nowhere near being a finished product. Notice how Green, Cornelius, Highsmith, and Rogers are still getting burn? Those dudes used to be JAGS just a couple months ago and now they're playing decent football thanks to Coach D.

I would have thought the haters would at least wait for a loss to continue their stupidity but obviously it knows no bounds. The close win was due to Stephen Morris not the defense. The defense was the only reason the win happened. GD paint chip eaters.

You make a good point, however the defense was not the only reason we won. It was our running game. I do agree guys likt Green, Gaines, Highsmith, should not be getting burn on a top defense.

However, it seems as if your willing to accept 400 yards of passing to a mediocre offense with a mediocre QB (even Ncarolina is fed up with him), a bunch of JAG receivers, a great TE, and a bunch of freshman on the Oline as long as we win. This is where you and I must part ways. I refuse to accept that..

FOr christ sake they had 200 yards of passing on 2 plays Wr screens and drag routes across the middle. I refuse to accept that because I know we can be better than that. We dont have the talent of an FSU or an ALabama and although we made stops when we had to against NC, we're capable of being a better defense

1) Play man-to-man coverage the majority of the game with zone sprinkled in (not the other way around)
2) Play the 3rd down speed package of McCord/AQM/David Gilbert consistently on 1st and 2nd down
3) Spy Perryman on Gayness Winston on obvious passing downs and delay blitz when he has an opening
4) Go in with the mindset that FSU is going to have to be outscored for the Canes to win the game (similar to every game last year).
This isn't going to be a replay of the Florida game this year, it's going to be a replay of the Duke game last year.

I've been through the rebuild before with Miami. People *****ing about coach D show what little knowledge they have about football. I remember the planes flying over the OB calling for Butch's head that read "From National Champs to National Chumps, Thanks Butch" while he was building the best CFB team ever in the history of college football. Just because our fans have no patience and zero vision doesn't mean they're opinion of Coach D is correct. We have a great DC that building something special with Golden and our fans can't get out of their own way.

Like I said, the defense is far exceeding anybodies expectations considering where they were last year. They are nowhere near a finished product and still have players on the two deep that have no business playing on a Miami caliber defense. Let the man build his defense and quit thinking you know better. Once the defense is loaded opposing offenses aren't going to score easily if at all. **** the roster is still at only 75? This team is 6-0 which means the coaching staff is coaching it's *** off and if Morris would play better they could be lights out. Hopefully their full game comes November 2.
