He is the key starting vs wake. **** unc,uf or anybody else we have played we beat them now it's the 2nd half of the season. The d has done a great job of not allowing a lot of pts, getting sacks and to but 900yds given up the last 2 games is crazy. The d can't to give up yards and expect to get a int or fumble to save them. He has to get more aggressive or you are going to be crying in a couple weeks. We are much better than wf and the d needs to dominate them. You want to know why we are getting overlooked? because we are struggling vs gt & unc the same teams vt controlled easily despite the score of those games. **** fsu it starts vs wf and if the d gives up more than 300 yds to a slow *** wf we are not ready to consistently to beat good teams. Dominate wake and **** fsu.

There is nothing wrong with a zone d if you are not playing 10yds off and you bringing pressure. You are not going to win games us good teams giving up 500yds.

We were much more aggressive against Florida because our D-line was beating their D-line and they didn't have alot of weapons to beat us.

If we blitz more and play man against crossing routes like everyone wants, that opens up opportunities for QB's to scramble and for players to cover much longer man to man making us more vulnerable.

Good news is that MIAMI held unc to 2.9yds per carry. They've been good against the run. In 3rd and long situations, unc neutralized Quan and TMcord's pass rush by audibling to a run and it worked a few times. Got to get that fixed pronto. Luther Robinson and David Gilbert need to generate sacks now.

Crossing routes against zone coverages are almost always more effective. Yes I watched the game and the push in the middle was a bigger problem than pressure off the edges.

You Coach D haters are ******* idiots. The defense hasn't been the problem at all this year. Stephen Morris needs to pull his head from his *** and play QB. Yes, that's right, Stephen Morris has been straight trash at the QB position. The only reason Miami came out with a win against UNC is because of the defense.

Funny thing is D No's defense is perfect for this game. Clemson tried bringing pressure and everytime they got burnt. The thing missing from D No's defense is we have no penetrating DT.....Valentine will transform this defense. We have gotten stout against the run which should give us a chance on third down.

Coley is more important in my opinion, he needs to keep Morris' throws down and pound the ball at them, not finesse runs Clemson was trying....power runs BC ran at them. We have the size upfront to do it

Crossing routes against zone coverages are almost always more effective. Yes I watched the game and the push in the middle was a bigger problem than pressure off the edges.

I have to disagree... all they were doing was sending wide recievers deep and running crossing routes across the field.. A linebacker is not staying with a wr across the middle..

Picksix stop talking with your emotion and talk with your brain.. We gave up over 400 passing yards and at one point N Carolina qbs were 18-19... We haven't played a decent passing team until North Carolina.. and they went off on us, I agree we have solved our run defense but not the pass. Dnofrio doesn't care about yards he cares about points... This is straight from the horses mouth... His strategy is to hold teams down in the red zone where his type of defense works better... Like I said im not complaining were 6-0. Just stating the obvious

Miami kicked off to UNC and the defense shut them down giving Miami great field position. Then Morris steps in to do his best Japicky Harris impersonation and puts the defense back on the field while killing all momentum. That was the common theme all night long. The defense sure as **** wasn't the problem Thursday and is the reason this team is 6-0 right now.

I agree with the premise of the OP. The bend but not break defensive strategy is a losing proposition against good teams. You must disrupt the QB and get them out of rhythm like defenses have done to our offense. FSU will throw on early downs if they know Winston has all day to sit in the pocket and pick us apart. You have to find a way to get a push and WR's cannot be allowed to get off the line freely like Ebron did.

2) Play the 3rd down speed package of McCord/AQM/David Gilbert consistently on 1st and 2nd down
3) Spy Perryman on Gayness Winston on obvious passing downs and delay blitz when he has an opening
4) Go in with the mindset that FSU is going to have to be outscored for the Canes to win the game (similar to every game last year).
This isn't going to be a replay of the Florida game this year, it's going to be a replay of the Duke game last year.

#4 makes an excellent point. If we think we are going to score less points than FSU and win the game, we are in a lot of trouble.
