Yeah that's what we need--replace the experienced guys who can't understand the system with young guys. Surely they'll get it.

D's gone forget the youth movement. You can't fire the players and they don't believe in D. I think Golden would do it now if he had someone besides himself to run the system but unfortunately it's he and D's deal so D will hang around until year's end then hit the bricks. There's really no other way to approach this given the last 2 years in the big picture.

D'Onofrio is definitively gone at the end of the season. No doubt.

We will have a new Defensive Coordinator by February 5th!

He's an assistant head coach. Probably comes with more contract perks and job security.

We're **** near 2 years removed from Feb of 2012; I'd bet any restrictions placed on him by UNC have run their course by now.

Probably has to do with his buyout and getting paid the full amount. No idea what kind of deal they negotiated.

Butch can coach anytime he wants but if he does UNC will stop paying him..
Butch gets a annually payment of $590k from UNC until 2015 I believe..
FIU wanted to pay him $500k a year but he turned it down..
His buyout is $1.8M from UNC..

BTW if I am reading it right the Butch statement was a personal comment and not something in the works..

I don't want D'Onofrio gone at the end of the season until he proves that he should be gone at the end of the season.
