D'onofrio gone at end of season?

Butch was my coach and i know for a fact he reaches out to the university on a regular and blake loves him. I'd love to have him back."

That sounds like an ex-player. I know that James Jackson used to post on one of the boards, but I think he was after Butch. Any thoughts on if it is a former player and who??

It's Michael Irving.

I don't see Golden being the type of coach to let a staff member go in the middle of the season, but he has to do some serious evaluating at the end of the season and realize if he doesn't get a better defensive coordinator and DL coach he will likely be gone before he has a chance to fully turn things around.

Butch has no equal in recruiting, period. He built JJ's teams, which was left for Dennis. Then rebuilt from Dennis' disasterous recruiting to agaqin the great assembled talent ever seen. I never thought he was much of an HC and don't want him back for that. DC maybe, but something dealing with helping Al evaluate and recruit would make an uinmatched pair. We could afford to focus most of the coaching postitions purely on coaching ablitly then without regard to recruiting ability. Hurlie needs to stay because I think he is Butch of the future. That said, I will fall over if Butch is brought back. It would be nice, but doubt it.

In February 2012, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers hired Davis as a special assistant to newly hired head coach Greg Schiano. The terms of Davis' settlement with the University of North Carolina prevented him from taking a coaching position, and he was instead hired as an advisor to Schiano, who was the defensive coordinator under Davis at the University of Miami.[14

this is all you need to know...UNC has him by the balls for his ******* mess there.......

We're **** near 2 years removed from Feb of 2012; I'd bet any restrictions placed on him by UNC have run their course by now.

Probably has to do with his buyout and getting paid the full amount. No idea what kind of deal they negotiated.

I thought the reason Butch wasn't "coaching" for the Bucs was the terms of his buyout (something like the offset language in his contract only applied to another coaching position). Not sure how much longer he has on the buyout. Still don't see it happening.

I posted this in another thread but i think blake james will force something to happen, blake listens to the fans he knows what has to be done

I would be very shocked if Blake James has the gravitas to force Golden to fire someone. golden may make that call, but I don't seel James having the ability to force his hand.

Golden will always be looking out for Coach D, and I think at this point moving on is probably best for both parties. No excuses to be this bad 2 years ago. There wasn't an excuse last year but youth was used, now that excuse is out hte window but the bull**** remains.

A guy posted it on ITU. He said that he was letting them know what they were hearing. They as in athletic alums and boosters.

He said that they are hearing that d'onofrio may be gone at seasons end. That they would buy his contract out.

He said that it's coming from some guy camp (don't want to post name he said) that is usually right on this stuff.

Not saying he would be the DC but the guy also said butch davis does stay in contact with miami and that the AD likes butch.

Buy the contract out????

I thought Coordinators and unit coaches are on year to year contracts????

If it can happen, dream scenario would be Butch serving the role of DC and recruiting coordinator

Coach Donofrio will not be fired by anyone at The University of Miami! The only way he leaves as long as Golden is the head coach is if he resigns. Hopefully for all involved he will do so at the end of the year.

usually those restrictions in a buy out prevent from coaching for the period bought out or have to repay the portion of buyout during the period of new coaching.
