Don’t care what anyone says …

BUT the defense will improve, that’s also a given.

Some of yall still haven't learned that this Run Heavy, play Defense & kick Field Goals dream yall keep hoping for is NEVER going to work at Miami.

When we're down by 17 against a below .500 team on the road & we're still just handing the ball off in the 3rd quarter going for 3 & outs, you'll look up & wonder to yourself, "Man wtf are we doing??"...

The answer to that question will be exactly what you wished for.

Get it through your thick fxkin skulls, WE ARE NOT MICHIGAN OR ANY OTHER MIDWESTERN B1G TEAM. WE CANNOT WIN WITH THAT STYLE OF PLAY.

But I’m excited for next season.

Yes, the offense will take a step back, that’s a given. BUT the defense will improve, that’s also a given. Here’s my reasons for excitement:

1) The offensive talent. No doubt a lot of really good players on that side of the ball, we saw it today. Trader is the goods. The OL I expect to actually be better next year. Next year’s offense will be more run heavy, and that’s okay. Find a serviceable qb and think the offense will be fine.

2) The schedule. We play Notre Dame at home first game (they’ll be breaking in a new qb) and UF at home (they’ll be good, I think). I think we have a shot in both even with the QB question mark

3) The defense. It can’t be as bad as it was this year. Guidry will be gone. The additions to the secondary already will improve the defense. Reason for optimism.

Mario isn’t great, but this is the best team we have had in a long time. He’s improved his coaching.

Regarding Pop-Tarts: sucks to lose I guess but we played with the backup the entire second half and could have just run it and won. The FG we made I didn’t mind because you assume ISU scores a TD … the problem is you tried to stop them from scoring when you know you couldn’t and wasted 2+ mins. If not, you likely have 2 timeouts + the 2 mins warning to run and drive the field for a game winning FG. Ultimately doesn’t matter.

5 —> 7 —> 10 with the OL much improved and DL is fine (think they underperformed due to Guidry if I’m being honest)

Either way, it’s just football. I love Miami and loved my time there but really we should be one of the better teams in the ACC which for now means fighting for a playoff spot. We’ll see.

Happy New Year and Go Canes!
Slurper Alert!!!

I think the majority agree. It's the staff that's the problem..

I think the formula is pretty clear: a dynamic QB, good skill position players and a powerful running game.

We did that this year and we were the best offense in the country. The best teams in the modern game are both explosive and physically dominant.

We need both.

We can have the best roster in CFB and I still wouldn’t be confident in having a great season with Mario as HC. There’s too much evidence to say he’s just not that guy to get you over the hump. Not to mention what we’ve ourselves have witnessed here at Miami under his tenure.
