But I’m excited for next season.

Yes, the offense will take a step back, that’s a given. BUT the defense will improve, that’s also a given. Here’s my reasons for excitement:

1) The offensive talent. No doubt a lot of really good players on that side of the ball, we saw it today. Trader is the goods. The OL I expect to actually be better next year. Next year’s offense will be more run heavy, and that’s okay. Find a serviceable qb and think the offense will be fine.

2) The schedule. We play Notre Dame at home first game (they’ll be breaking in a new qb) and UF at home (they’ll be good, I think). I think we have a shot in both even with the QB question mark

3) The defense. It can’t be as bad as it was this year. Guidry will be gone. The additions to the secondary already will improve the defense. Reason for optimism.

Mario isn’t great, but this is the best team we have had in a long time. He’s improved his coaching.

Regarding Pop-Tarts: sucks to lose I guess but we played with the backup the entire second half and could have just run it and won. The FG we made I didn’t mind because you assume ISU scores a TD … the problem is you tried to stop them from scoring when you know you couldn’t and wasted 2+ mins. If not, you likely have 2 timeouts + the 2 mins warning to run and drive the field for a game winning FG. Ultimately doesn’t matter.

5 —> 7 —> 10 with the OL much improved and DL is fine (think they underperformed due to Guidry if I’m being honest)

Either way, it’s just football. I love Miami and loved my time there but really we should be one of the better teams in the ACC which for now means fighting for a playoff spot. We’ll see.

Happy New Year and Go Canes!

I have no problem with someone being excited for next season.

I’m not, but I have no problem that you are.

4-8 football team next year. This year is an indictment on the program moving forward.
Mario wasted a generational talent. Emory is terrible, people saying “he kept us close in the FSU game and beat Clemson” don’t understand that we were close or won, IN SPITE of Emory, not because of him.

Guidry should be left at the bowl game.

Mario couldn’t even land a top 10 class this last year and recruiting is the only attribute he did well! He’s getting absolutely nobody to come join in on this dumpster fire of a program.

I ain’t confident about next season until we get a portal qb. I’ll admit I was one of the fools advocating for Emory and boy was I wrong. I fell for the hype. He should never see another snap here unless it’s garbage time
