Dolphins re-modeling Sun Life Stadium

I don't see how the stadium would be able to be played in for a year or 2 from ground breaking. This is reconstruction basically of the entire inside of the stadium. It aint getting done in a single offseason and the structure will be compromised, you cant have thousands of people sitting in that stadium.

So approval for this will take another what? Year? 2?

Construction will begin when? Completed construction? Sometime before I die I hope.

I don't know much about construction but moving seats closer to the field seems like a really difficult and expensive task.

It's not like you can get a bunch of guys on either end of a section and yell out "ok 1,2,3 lift."

I would guess a crew would have to completely demolish a few sections and then rebuild them closer? IDK I guess that's whyL I'm not an architect or contractor.

Anyone know of any other stadiums that this has been done before? If and when they do start construction how long does that take to complete?

Would we have to spend a season or two playing at FIU's stadium (wherever) or would something like that be done by the time the season begins if they started construction immediately after the Dolphins finished their season?

To add seats nearer the field, they likely would dig out the playing field, lower it, and just add rows of seats in front of current seats. It does seem that there'd be enough work on at least one or two phases that would require the Dolphins and Canes to play elsewhere for a season or two, although they may have a way to avoid that.
