Do you guys feel comfortable with Ryan Williams?

Im more concerned with coach Coley than I am Ryan Williams.

Unfortunately, I agree with this.

Coley has never developed a QB and Morris regressed badly under him.

I dont agree with this Morris regressing under Coley thing; last year Morris stockpiled a ton of stats from comeback efforts against GT and NCST and garbage stats in blowouts vs KSU and ND.. This year Miami never trailed by double digits like GT and NCST (which led to lots of passes thrown)in a game until FSU in which Duke got hurt, Miami became one dimensional and Morris was done.. same thing woulda happened last year if Duke and Mike James were out

Williams is going to surprise a lot in my opinion he is a huge upgrade over Morris , Morris couldn't hit a short pass if his life depended on it

I'm ready to move past Morris. Agree with Southcane, benching your sr QB has huge implication. You are still dealing with college athletes who may not be able to come back well if you take away confidence. You only bench if you are very comfortable that you are going to make a change.
I am okay with Williams. You can win a lot of games with a series of 8 yd completions.

The issue is that many on here believe that Morris only played because Al felt loyal to him... My question is why couldn't Williams take the qb position in 2012... He had an entire spring to take the position but he couldn't do it... The qb position was up for grabs in 2012... Williams was beat out twice by Morris... It doesn't make him a scrub but it just says Morris was better than him... This reminds me of D. Crawford is better than Duke threads... After UNC(where duke was averaging 10 ypc compared to DC 4) the tones change...

Morris still threw more passes under Fisch, had less INTs under Fisch, and a better completion % under Fisch, had less multiple INT games under Fisch, etc.

I just don't have any faith in Coley so I hope he shuts me up and does something with Williams.

Williams has football iq? The 3rd and 15 8 yard throw against UNC was a stroke of genius I will give you that. I think what you meant to say was trading talent for being white.

If Williams is the QB this team loses 6 or 7 games this year. That is not something I'm "comfortable" with for a placeholder QB. Id rather just go full on rebuild mode with Kaaya or Olsen

Don't have an issue with Ryan Williams as long as he is not a turnover machine like Snickers.

We don't need our QB to throw for 4000 yards. Just needs to be efficient and not make mistakes. With all the firepower we have, that's all we need.,

Can he convert at least 55% of 3rd down opportunities? Yes? then he is better than Morris. 3rd and 4 was a death sentence for all drives in Miami this year.

**** no! He's been a backup for a reason. What's more concerning is if Olsen can't beat him out this spring and fall...

I mean he was never given a real chance to play alot in games and I may be wrong but I feel very uncertain going in next year with him at Qb. Why not let Olsen or Kayaa progress into in the role. I mean look at what these QBs are doing as freshman (Manziel, Winston, Hackenburg, etc....)

GO CANES ! :neonu::neonu:
