DL depth chart

The bodies and the talent seem to be there, finally. I'm happy with the waiver wire pick-ups we made and the guys brought in seem to be more physically ready than some of the younger guys from last year. Not sure what the DL rotation will look like but hope it's something along the lines of:

1st/2nd down

SDE: Chick
DT: Pierre
DT: Porter
WDE: Green ( until someone takes his job)

3rd down:

SDE: McCord/Chick
DT: Chick on passing downs/Kamula
DT: Porter
WDE: Gilbert/Muhhamd

Depth added: Renfrow, L. Robinson, Muhhamad (hopefully mostly passing down), amd who else?

So you Pierre in front of Porter on passing downs? Seems like Porter can penetrate a little more effectively.

I just like that we have plenty of bodies there that are NOT freshman. I think we have some legit competition pushing the starters now and some depth that can be relied upon for quality minutes.

Picking up The Cure and Godfrey really makes a tremendous difference.

Agreed, it's been a long time. I am also starting to see some talent on the DL which is going to make a young secondary look a whole lot better.

I could see that as well, I am curious to see what we do with our alignments in obvious passing downs. There seem to be some options this year.

I thought I read that according to the staff Pierre is being moved to DE but will slide along the line as needed.

If Luther keeps putting in the work then he will be playing. I believe we actually have a rotation finally and we will do different things depending on the situation.


On running downs, we may see more of Pierre at DE with Luther and Porter in the middle.
