2025 DJ Pickett 5* CB from Zephyrhills Commits to LSU

I am talking about a top Defensive back or WR that is top 5 in the country that we really want (i.e. Jeremiah Smith, KJ Bolden, Pat Surtain (understood it wasn’t Mario, hence why I said Miami, etc).

This includes all head coaches recently (Richt, Manny, Mario).

So this cycle only Wilson or DJ?

It’s always been the money unless you are winning championships.

Also a down year in south Florida isn’t helping things.

2026 I expect a top 5 class

You're one of the better posters on here, so disclaimer...not going at you.....but I HATE this phrase. We say it **** near every year. All it means is UGA, Bama, and OSU have to recruit nationally.
Also, all classes are top 5 classes.....to us. A S FLA 3 star is a national 4 star. (Sarcasm) Star ranking really dont matter beyond the 5 stars and even then those are subjective.

The fanbase needs to just accept we are who we are and get what we get. We set expectations so high, but run things mid af. I'm at that point to where I enjoy the wins this season, and hope we can improve the defense for next year. No need to set expectations any higher than that.

IMO, I would say Mario needs to land DJ if given the choice of 1 but I wouldn’t be upset with either one. Just need a big time impact guy at our weakest position for years from a recruiting stand point.

I’m just enjoying the season. It’s recruiting that is a means to an end and that end is to win which we are doing.

And how'd that work out for Cormani?
Didn’t say it was a good or bad thing, im just not faulting a parent for doing what they think is best for their kid.

Cormani could have went anywhere and he would’ve failed if his work ethic and commitment was bad

Question I have. What if DJ's condition to sign is to have a starting spot locked in at CB next year? Would you guys take that?

Or would you prefer a #2 worthy outside CB from the transfer portal?

I think I would lean the transfer portal route but the caveat is our staff needs to get wayyyyy better at choosing transfer portal CB's bc up to this point it has been a complete miss at outside CB and nickle.

He went from a lot of money guaranteed at Miami to not so much at Colorado or Ugator. Id day he overplayed his hand.

You know there’s issues with Cormani when Deion cuts bait on a young CB with raw abilities.
Sanders hasn't developed Hunter as a CB - he's still just the best athlete on the field.

Cormani might eventually turn out to be great, but he's clearly not a self starter.
