Dj Johnson

Jordan Wright, DE from Dillard deserves a look.

I'm sure he's the backup plan. He's a player I can deal with but it's just not the same level. Luckily we have Thomas, D Jackson, J Jackson, Harris, Bethel, Patchan, and then add Garvin. He could come in and get a year to add the strength he needs and devote fulltime to football.

He'll be a good player, ceiling could even be close to Johnson, but he's far behind right now.

Shodell talked to his high school coach who said he's still firmly committed to Miami and even his brother said the same thing yesterday. Johnson visited Utah this weekend and Arizona State prior to Washington and the staff is aware that he's taking these visits.

He said I know he had a good time at UW, but not that good of a time to decommit.

For whatever it's worth.

Said he talked to him Friday after their playoff game and he and his family were still set on Miami. He has 2 visits left he will take the one to Miami in January and another that is TBD.

I still think that if he makes the trip to Miami with his parents, regardless of how he's feeling right now, Richt will lock up his family on that visit.

And in the inhome visits. Richt is a mastermind at that. I know that personally when some of my friends were recruited by him

This would be a huge loss. This kid is a game changer on the DL. Those are REALLY hard to
Come by. Jmo

We're all allowed our opinions. Just like it's everyone's opinion that hes gone & now choose to **** on him & help that along the way (****** morons)that being said you clearly don't know the competition level he plays against. I'll take Jon Garvin 9 out of 10. I like dj but honestly he doesn't make or break this class or any.

I really like Garvin too but DJ is a different creature. Despite being a great player, I agree it wouldn't destroy the class. It would hurt the class ranking but it's easy to replace him with Jordan Wright who will be really good down the road.

If there's one position we can afford a decommit it's DE. Now if Navaughn decommits... holy **** we're ****ed.

I want both Garvin and Johnson. Keep that Dline stack with monsters. Wouldn't choose between any give me both I'm greedy.

That dude DJ can play. Don't kid yourselves you ain't replacing him with a skipper like Wright.

Rick is the king of the living room. Get him in that living room with DJ's mom, and it's a wrap. Old boy will pop those loafers off and kick back on the couch like he's best friends with them.

Rumors of Johnson decommit clarified

"Rumors are swirling that 4-star Deonte Johnson will decommit from Miami, the standout DE has remained mum on the subject. He has visited Washington and Arizona State previously and was at Utah this weekend."

"Johnson's coach at Sacramento (Calif.) Burbank High School, John Heffernan, helped clarify his status."
"He's going on some visits but he hasn't wavered on his commitment to Miami," Heffernan, said. "The staff at Miami knows he's taking some trips. When I talked to him and his family, they're still firmly committed to the University of Miami."

"Heffernan says he spoke with Johnson Friday night after the team's playoff loss.
"He went to Utah this weekend," Heffernan said. "He'll take one more, and Miami will be his last trip."

"Heffernan said Johnson hasn't decided the location of his remaining unscheduled trip."

"He said he had a good time at Washington, but I don't think it was enough for him to decommit from Miami to go to Washington," Heffernan said. "He didn't have that good a time."

"He's firmly committed. and when I talked to his brother, his brother reassured me he'd talked to him and he's staying committed to the U."

"Heffernan also spoke about Johnson's talent."
"He has a large ceiling to grow, a lot of growth ahead of him," Heffernan said. "His explosiveness, his speed, his length, his strength - all those things are going to get bigger and better as he gets to the U, when he earns to really play with his hands he'll be a really dominant force."

You should see Mama's eyes the moment Rick offers to lead grace before eating around the dinner table. Instant sell.

His High school coach seems to be sympathetic to the U, probably doesn't like his kids being recruiting divas. Looking better for us IMO.

LOC is always a concern but you can't teach his athletic ability. As for garvin, I also think he's great but from an athletic standpoint, I think DJ is pn another levek

Rick got this DJ situation on lockdown.

Coach Heffernan sounds like a stand up dude. I wonder if he's any relation to former Cane Dave Heffernan.

Unsure about relationship. But his coach's statement in the article posted by stb give me faith in him sticking with us.

Tell you one thing, I'm glad he's not visiting us until the season is over because each of the last 2 officials got upset. Maybe he's just there to bring bad Ju-Ju to all non-UM programs.

Exactly why all the *****ing and moaning so quickly about a recruit leaving is over exaggerated. Sure we still have to fight for him but Richt has this **** on lock
