this. ivins spoke about this for months. once the closer schools picked up contact it was over and said 2 months or so ago that he was on flip watch. not a shock. we can only hope the local kids do that for us lol.

Yes, and cautionary to all the folks who say we should chase everyone everywhere (or the ‘best’ kids ‘wherever’). You recruit kids for years. Keeping them in the fold when they aren’t local and are sought after is hard (and why go for OOS kids who won’t be sought after?). When they’re non local, sought after and we got a bump (as we did this year), it’s that much harder. All the more reason to focus locally.

Manny’s recruiting is suspect, imo. This is just a data point.

recruit everywhere not just focus locally. local kids spurn us too to go elsewhere and some of our leaders on the team aren't local kids and show more heart than the local ones. in the end, **** where theyre from and just recruit. if theyre local, cool, if not, cool. stupid to just focus locally.

DB, OL, and LB are pretty bad. Keshawn Washington should not be in this class nor neither should Alvin Mathis. I originally gave both the benefit of the doubt but after watching both seniors higlight tapes, they both play in slow motion. Especially when you have guys like Keshawn Greene, who say we lead, and Hyppolite who is literally right in your backyard. There should be no problem recruiting to add the best players in this class, but to coaches seem to be recruiting to not lose a commit instead of getting the best.

If you live in a fantasy world where resources are unlimited, sure.

But in the real world, you have constraints and uncertainties, and hence need priorities, and to make tough choices.

Recruit eeryone eerywhere is not a strategy. And will lead to underperformance.

With FSU down, we may pickup a couple of their recruits. It's all in how we finish. I'd expect a monster class in 2021. We should win the Coastal next year. Yeah, we should have won it this year, but we'll be an experienced team next year having had so many of our young players getting playing time this year. I'm expecting us to dominate next year.
