Devonta Smith

Smith sounds like exactly the type of guy Rick should reel in. He's got a pulse rate of about 40. If he ventures out of the hotel room for more than a bucket of ice we win.

Gonna be like Punxsutawney Devonta. If we see his his shadow anywhere this weekend we win.

100%

he's a smart, quite kid with strong faith. We are a small private school, with smaller classes and have a pastor as our coach.. And Ahmonn seems like the perfect host for a kid like him too.

Does a host really matter if Devonta doesn´t even talk to them?

They should let Donaldson host him. Stick them in a room, slap some paint on the wall, and let them watch it dry.

It's gotta have a balcony so he smell all the great food and see all the nice ****ies everywhere

But but but Smith told people in his neighborhood that he was all Bama.

:monkey-serious:

True. I was passing through Amite a couple days ago, and I saw The Amite Town Crier standing on a soapbox bellowing out some "Hear ye hear ye" **** followed by the official proclamation about Smith heading to Alabaga. No one else heard it though.

No clue where he's going, but I don't buy the "undecided" talk.

If the visits are all for his family, as stated in the article that was posted ITT, then he's already a silent commit, IMO. And if it ain't to Miami, he's not coming.

LSU thinks he's going to Bama, and if the rumor about his connect being at Bama is accurate, then the kid is going to Bama.

But if he's really thinking about "family", going to LSU would seem to be the best fit.

I will be in shock if this kid picks Miami.

Whenever you are taking your entire family on an official visit somewhere, that school has a shot.

Legit shock like toxic shock or the kind where you go into a semi-permanent catatonic state, or "wow that was a surprise" type of shock? Quantify your impending shock.

He means it is a good morning whether you want it or not.

Given how seriously I take recruiting, my level of shock will likely be around the carpet-static level. So, I'll recover fairly quickly and won't have any lingering issues.

Uh oh... from Andrew ivins
While Smith is considered a heavy favorite to sign with Alabama in advance of next week's National Signing Day, multiple sources have told InsideTheU in recent days that the Hurricanes feel good about where they stand with the nation's No. 3 ranked wide receiver per 247Sports heading into this weekend's official visit to Coral Gables.

I'm so sick of these insiders lol you'll see this weekend if he actually looks interested in this visit he's ours for sure

More click bait from that shyster Ivings. "Multiple sources" and "Hurricanes feel good" are textbook Spermanology.

I happen to think we get Smith, but this is just more nebulous nonsense.

Ivins has pretty legit sources though, for sure better than anyone that covers recruiting not named peter ariz

i know the standard is horrible low with people that cover the Canes, but gotta agree with Brcack here...dont think Ivins is that bad. And it is his job to generate clicks...

Ivins Really going out on a limb here. Earth shattering stuff.

Yep. I remember the name change and every one of those fighters. I grew up a big boxing fan. Those were great fighters and great fights. Thanks for bringing back the memories!

I remember going to see the first Duran vs. Leanard fight at the old Jersey City colony theatre. No cable or internet at that time, LOL. Most of the folks on this board were not even born then, LOL. **** I remember seeing all the Puerto Rican vs. Mexican fights. Julio Cesar Chavez vs. Wilfredo Gomez, Pepino Cuevas vs. Duran, Wilfredo Benitez vs. Duran, Duran vs. Hagler, etc, etc. Those were some awsome fights. To go 15 rounds at that time you had to have balls and tons of stamina. Most of the pussies now barely make it 10 rounds. Those guys made it look easy.

****, NDE, you're bringing back memories... I watched those same fights in Passaic , I think the Capitol theatre was the name.. Yeah very few good fighters today, but the welterweight division is loaded. I used to fight for Silk City boxing club in Paterson, ol' Eddie Johnson (MadDog) was my trainer. I had a lot of matches in Camden back in the young days, LOL, **** I fought all over. Boxing is definitely The Sweet Science!!

Nice to bring back those memories.

Lust: Yeah, boxing was my favorite sport when I was younger. Now boxing is BS and little competition and pussies fighting each other. I used to box for the Boys and Girls Club in Jersey City from 1969 to 73 when I was caught doing some stupid **** that young kids from the hood used to do back then when you had no brains. Tried boxing at Rahway but tore my shoulder in 73. I had no health insurance and always waked around with a bum shoulder until I was in my mid 40s and finally got it repaired. LOL. Let me tell you a story. First time I went to Miami in the 70s I had a cousin who told me he was going to drive me through the "hood". After a half hour I told the MF, "When we gonna get there". She said we have been driving in the hood for over half an hour. I feel over laughing. My version of the hood is having to walk up 10 flights of stairs cause the elevator was broken in the projects, having to close you nose with all the **** smell and hoes sucking off some dude on the 5th floor. Here even the hood had palm trees and back yards, LOL. Back then you had pit bulls fighting. Now all you get is Pretty Boy Floyd types. Take care.

I feel you, the hood down there is rough, but chit go to J.C., Newark, Plainfield , Paterson...... brother, I seen the same chit in the projects, matter of fact, they stole a puppy straight out from my hand, but I kept walking like nothing ever happened. I'm not getting steamrolled in there by myself, LOL.... the irony is that I just found that puppy like 4 blocks away, so I decided to show my aunt who lived in the projects back in 84. LOL

Anyways..... I still feel Smith will pick us. Just to stay with the program HERE!

Lust: That was some funny **** right there. People down here don't know what the hood is. I don't know if you ever travelled up the the South Bronx in the 70s and even early 80s, it looked like Germany in 1945, not one ******* building standing. The only buildings standings were the projects, LOL. You forgot Camden in the NJ cities. I knew some rough MFs from Camden. That place was also filed with heroin and death. It was a miracle some folks made it out alive. Whoever did make it out the majority are still recovering addicts. Half of my cousins are still recovering addicts, LOL. That is where boxing came from, from freaking pit bulls who had to decide whether it was worth it to fight a huzzler that took a stray dog from you or whether you got some of your older cousins to teach that MF a lesson not to fruck with you. LOL. That is why I would never want to move back to either Jersey or NYC where I lived a major part of my life. Give me Miami and the Canes. PS: I also think that Smith is a silent without a doubt.
