Devonta Smith

one of the top recruits in this class dm me on twitter and said he wont say who but we have MAJOR OL's and Wr's that will be coming. he said he doesnt know of any CB's

Probably Slaton, Herbert, & Holloman. Devonta Smith is a lock to Alabama unless they drop him (yes, bama can drop an elite recruit for another one).

Do they drop him if he never commits? And do they not take his commitment if he wants to commit to them at an All-American game? No. Do you stop recruiting the number 2 or 3 or whatever WR recruit in the country if you think you're in the top 2 or 3 for him? No. If they stop recruiting him, Miami simply beat out Alabama just like Richt did when he was at UGA and just like we did last cycle with Ahmmon.

Does that make Miami better than Alabama? No, but the kid likes the opportunity Miami offers more than Alabama. Not sure why some can't make sense of the fact that we can beat out Alabama for certain guys and some guys actually prefer Miami to Alabama for whatever reason. Everybody that doesn't go to Alabama isn't "dropped". Don't listen to what their writers tell you and what their fans say

This Miami has beaten out bama for a number of players over the last few years including article burns, chad Thomas and Ahmmon Richards to name a few

Yep

30 predictions on 247sports, all 30 say it's Alabama. I read somewhere he's already a silent commit. Smith can get EARLY playing time here though.

Because when in doubt always go with Bama. Especially in that industry. God forbid one of them be wrong and predict UM. Might lose subscriptions. But there is something to be said that DSmith postponed his announcement due to flood and then didnt just re-announce a few days later. The longer this plays out the better for us. He can commit to Bama whenever he wants. Not like Saban is gonna pull his scholie.

That said, we have to show more on offense to get these skill guys interested in coming here. For gods sake we look like a JV offense.

if smith was a lock to bama, he would have commited already

Nonsense. You know how many dudes commit to bama late despite the fact that they were widely considered locks?

Thank God these kids take their recruitment more serious than you guys do & base more things on reality. You think these kids who are considered big time wide outs don't take the time to really break down a school & it's roster? You think they don't realize Alabama is a run heavy team who features one reciever... as long as ridley is there any other reciever will have very little to do with that offense. Than you already got a few on board weighting in the wings. Possibly jeudy as well. Feel free to think he's going to bama if u want but if anything lsu is the real threat because a new staff that's a big hire promising a wide open offense in his backyard is a hard sell to beat.

You confident we land him even if LSU makes a push? LSU isn't that different from Bama in terms of being run heavy, but I guess a new coach could change it all up.

All I know is for months now he has been ours to lose. His delay to announce wasn't due to a decision it was due to a shop that certain schools use to funnel payments was flooded out. That was the same time lsu really came into the equation. I know the games lsu plays when it comes to that bagman. That being said it don't make them unique. The bagman is real country wide. My concern is that lsu will do what's necessary to steal him from us with a new staff & promises of a wide open offense. Bama isn't a concern from what I've heard.

Didn't the last coach get fired because of the run heavy offense? The announcers were blasting him pretty hard on TV for not using what they felt was the best weapon on the team in a WR. Who ever the new coach is will have to promise to go more pass heavy or there was no reason to fire the last one. Though for our sake I certainly hope they mess up this hiring.

In my opinion he got fired for underachieving more so than being too run heavy. Doubt many people would have complained if they ran as much as they did and still won.

Part of that was just an overreliance on fournette, who is admittedly an absolute monster. But he'll be gone next year so there won't be the temptation to just give it to him every play. So yeah, you are right. Next coach will probably want to air it out more, they do have some great wide receivers on their roster. They still need a QB though.

LSU tends to snag some great Florida players every couple recruiting cycles so hopefully the next coach is a huge flop and has no Florida ties.

It's funny how buddy gets downvoted for saying Cane lock while yall be pessimists & do the typical bama lock ****. I'm not answering nothing but smith & Holloman will both be canes come signing day.

how much money on that one? Don't talk bs lets talk $ .

I don't talk bs. I know what I'm saying.you'll just have to see
