Devonta Smith Last Night

Amazing. Not only amazing that it happens, amazing that someone could write a detailed piece about it and nothing changes.

If he truly wants early playing time he comes here, hes been really quit with his recruitment so lets see what happens after his OV here

here's an informed guess, based on the perspective of another highly touted receiver prospect in this class.

Dameyun Craig is not very well thought of as a WR position coach. He was able to hide at FSU, because Jimbo was really the QB coach. So, Craig's real talent is finding kids and recruiting them. He's extremely likeable, and connects well.

But if kids and parents do their homework, they find that receivers at Auburn and LSU are not very high on what he actually teaches them.

If Matt Canada can overcome that perception, Smith will stay home. If not, it's Bama or Miami.

... just an opinion. Not from Smith or anyone close to him. But from someone who could relate.

And, yeah ... I took some paraphrasing liberties. Lol

Our wide receiver class is Njoku. That's it.

Unreal, that we continue to struggle to land quality WRs

What I don't understand is how some moderators and even Pete fail to acknowledge or discuss that certainly it has been the worst handle position on recruiting.

Theres more variables involved than we consider. This was a crazy down year for WRs in SFL + Jeudy was all Bama + Grimes has been all OSU for years + Holoman (mom won and they usually win all the battles - Alex Collins) = our current situation

but, missing on Harley would be a monumental **** up

would love to hear from Jimmy D. Smith in this thread... sucks that every time he posts here some ****heads gotta try him

Continue? Last year we landed three All-Americans. Currently there are 4 all-Americans on the roster right now. It would be five if Bruce could've stayed out of trouble. This cycle as it stands right now is actually breaking the recent trend.

yup, last year Richt brought in the top WR in Dade, Broward and Palm Beach.... Just so happens that there isn't 1 elite WR in Dade county this year.

You need Pete to cry to make you feel better. I doubt that Pete is looking to be overly critical of the guys giving him the scoops that we all love so much.

Take comfort in the river of tears flowing from most of your fellow posters two months from signing day.

For those saying Alabama pays, can you please explain this?
How exactly do they do it?
I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just curious as to how schools do it and get away with it.

"Hey, how'd he get that ride? His uncle bought it. How did his uncle buy it? Paid cash. Paid cash, how'd he do that? ****, we don't know, but here's the receipt where he paid cash, and now y'all ain't got ****. Go tell the NCAA you think we're cheating because this kid's uncle bought him a used Tahoe in cash, you racist."
