Derrick Griffin update

What are Griffin's measurables again? Never really thought there was a chance of getting him into school so didn't pay that close of attention.

Really really big and really fast.

What a coup this would be.

Even more so with regards to basketball. Let him redshirt this year in football so that he's healthy/strong for basketball season. Unless of course he shows up to Greentree and is unstoppable.

At 6'7'' and 230, holy TE batman.

They're gonna start him out wide. He's got surprisingly good turnover for a guy his size.

I agree. If he has the fluidity to be a WR, I don't see the need to push him to TE just bc he is so big. Give me Calvin Johnson at WR all day even though he is TE sized

I'm fine with wherever they want to play the kid, let's get him into school and see what happens.

Instant Red-Zone threat. Please bless whatever CB is assigned to him in the Red-Zone. He's not just tall the kid can jump.

Rice said his GPA and ACT score have met requirements.

So basically, in Texas....it's easier to get someone to do one's homework, in order to boost a kids GPA, and easier to get someone to pass the ACT for a kid...

But that dang Texas exit-test has everyone worried... LULZ!!!

Gotta love America's public school system!!!

It's Texas. The English question might be, "How do you spell TEXAS?" and the math question could be, "1 + 1= a) 2 b)500 c) 1,000 D) none of the above.

The important thing is that a couple months ago when he signed with us nobody gave him any chance of making it in. Nobody. Everyone assumed Prep School even though the kid said he was working hard and was getting A's and B's now after slacking his first couple years.
If the kid got a qualifying ACT score he will pass some exit test. Judging by the English and Math skills of today's teenagers, passing a test to make sure you can count change and butcher the English language properly shouldn't be a daunting task.

So, this is kinda off-topic, but if Derrick Griffin can make it in...makes me a lot more optimistic on Coley getting in

Even if he passes the exam he could still get flagged by the NCAA right? Fingers crossed everything works out. I've tried to keep from getting too excited about Griffin until he's on campus and it's a done deal, but he's an absolute monster.

If Griffin and Coley both get on campus.....we are going to be an absolute nightmare for ACC defenses.

+1

Golden landed the best playmakers from FL, Tennessee, and Texas in this past class. Dude is a recruiting beast!!!

How the class didn't skyrocket in rankings once we landed Elder and Griffin after signing day is beyond me.

@ByPapaCane: Folks I am hearing that Derrick Griffin passed his Texas required exit test. One down. Next is qualifying for UM. I am hopeful.

Think Lebron James if he went to play college football

PapaCane is as about as knowledge as DBC POST bear attack.

/Still hope it's true

If he "heard" it, that means he is repeating info that someone else is reporting. So it might have some validity. He didn't get it from his "sources".

So Griffin, who as of last night still needed to take his test, was able to get his score back in less then a day?

lol ******* papacane. What a loser.

edit: even if he is somehow miraculously right, he is still a loser.
