i referenced the IC's being a separate rule in the first line of my post. i also included section 15 in my post, down at the bottom.
agree, they are separate rules that have to work together, and different situations can apply to each.
but, no where did i suggest that the Signing rule(section 13) limits signing over 25. in fact, the 2nd paragraph (13.9.2.3.1 ), suggests the ways in which you can sign more than 25. its essentially the same logic as for the IC's & financial aid.(Section 15). if you sign and enroll early, you can back count if there's space.
and lastly, ive yet to see the 5 EE back-counting limit anywhere in the rules. I posted a link to the newest guidelines above if anyone wants to point it out.
I wasn't criticizing you, it was others.
Five is the limit. It may not be in that section of the manual, but five is the limit.
Again, "signing" is what is debatable. For practical purposes, the official visits and "signing" limits relate to incoming freshmen and incoming JuCo graduates, but we all know there are regular transfers and grad transfers too, they just don't get the "five official visits" and other recruiting-type benefits.
DD, you are one of the good ones, you know more of the rules than most people on the board. I'm just weary of the guys who start yapping about signing 30.
You are also correct, there are a few exceptions. One is when a player is injured and can no longer play a sport. Another involves the "mid-year replacement rule", which we have discussed previously.
