Deon Bush Health issue or rusty

Maybe should have shirted him cause if he continues to play at this level of play it's a lost season for him that would have been better spent shirted

I don't think he is in school for 5 years. I think if he can help us now (not yet), he needs to play regardless.

Yup but if he doesn't do anything worth noting what was the point of playing this season?

First of all, you're second-guessing. No one knew it would take him this long to get back to full speed, so they kept playing him in the hope he'd play his way back to speed.

Second, if he's likely not going to use all 5 years, then why bother RS'ing him? It's stupid. If he makes 1 play that helps us win a game this year, then playing him was worth it.

That already happened on that blitz.

I understand but the season is not over yet, so maybe he will do something. He has played in a few games this year so it's not like he is just coming back for FSU...lot of time left, at least 6 games. Also, we're lacking players at the position.

I see where your trying to make a comparison to the RB position but at the safety position not being 100% can lead us giving up big plays over the top or looking ridiculous like Rodgers last year against FSU. Save the year get healthy ball out for another 2 years cause this season isn't helping his nfl draft stock so he can leave early next year he's got at least 2 more years here on the guarantee

There is no comparison to any position. There is nothing to save because (a) the season is not over yet, (b) we need him to play and (c) he is not staying for 5 years. He can still ball out for two years if he plays this year.

So it's good to assume he'd be 100% after missing spring and fall practice and not suiting up finally in practice till what week 2 of the season? It was obvious the rust would be there not to mention he would be entering his true soph season so it's not like he was a 3rd yr player so he still had much to learn.

So far he hasn't. And my opinion he will make minimal impact. Lost season

You're displaying limited intellect on this issue. You're calling it a lost season when it's only half finished, which makes you either omnipotent or dopey. The coaches trust the doctors and the kid. The kid wanted to play, and the doctors cleared him. Last year, he was our best DB as a freshmans, so you want to play your best players when they're cleared.

Next, you're claim that this is a lost season is odd because if he didn't play at all and redshirted it would be a completely lost season. You know **** well he's not going to be here for 5 years, so why are you so obsessed with RS'ing him? I'd swear some of you guys get wet panties over the idea of RS'ing players.

How sad when having a discussion and things aren't going smoothly one must rely on childish things like calling another out. Stick to the discussion on hand or hop off.

How's this lets let the season play out and assess his season and if he was better off getting in shape with a RS hitting the gym with plenty of important film room with practice time. Cause it seems being out there and not in peak shape and 100% is getting him hurt. Sound fair? Or you wanna continue a conversation that has no right or wrong answer other than opinions on one would handle the matter. Sound intellectual enough for you?

Why are you concerned with the 2016 season?

A few things

1. Lost season: Like I already said, we have at least 6 games left. So to consider this season a "lost season" before the season is over is a joke.

2. Deon was pretty good last year (see below), so even though he was a true sophomore he was pretty advanced.

Played in 10 games, making six starts at safety ... Second-team Freshman All-America by CollegeFootballNews.com ... Made 34 tackles, including 28 solo stops ... Added 1.0 tackle for loss, three pass break-ups and finished tied for second in ACC with three forced fumble

3. Rust, sure there is rust but what can you do. We need him. We badly need him out there. Highsmith can't play, Rodgers was injured and Carter is not ready. Jenkins looks pretty good, so he has that spot but we need Bush.

Even if Bush is 75% we need him still.

4. Why are you so concerned about 2016?

Spot on, we need to keep getting him reps and hope he starts to get more comfortable and closer to looking like the heat seeking missle he was last year. Would love to see us blitz him a little bit to maybe get him into the game and attacking the LOS.

Alright let's drop the RS since it's seeming rustle your jimmies.

If he's not 100% and in peak condition why play him and get him more hurt like he just got? Why not let him recover fully and come back next year ready to go? I mean what's the difference between a 75% bush and a jag highsmith? Not much at that juncture. He's not ST or ed out there so don't make him out to be like that right now where he's not out there and this secondary has hit the **** slide.

Is this all one has to say to admit I don't have an argument? GTK

Bush has been cleared and is fine to play. This isn't debatable, this is the truth per the coaching staff. So quit with the healing and recovery for next season. WE NEED HIM NOW. Not sure why you want JAG Highsmith out there, not sure why you think Bush can't get better. Are you a doctor? Did you analyze Bush? Most importantly we also need him now. My guess is slowly he will come back to form, probably sometime against UVA/Pitt he will be playing at a much higher level.

Nobody made him out to be ST, this part is irrelevant. We made him out to be a player we need now. We made him out to be a player that can help us.

The best part of your argument is your assumption that Bush can't contribute more this season, there is at least 6 games left.

a 75-80% Deon Bush is still maybe the best safety on the roster. Our season isn't defined by the FSU game and we still have a ton of important games left. You bring every big dog you have to the fight.

If the 75-80% Bush is what we saw the last few games, I would rank them as follows.

1. Jenkins
2. Healthy Rodgers (is he healthy, no idea)
3. 75-80% Bush (or Bus no "h")

Wide Gap

4. Highsmith

Agree with your take Consig. Rodgers has played well this year even though no body wants to admit it.

I think Carter is ready... if artie can get some burn at corner why not try carter at safety...
