Deon Bush Health issue or rusty

Possible won't see the best of Bush and Lewis till next season. Anything we get before then is a bonus.

They are both obviously still suffering from injuries/out of game shape, but I just dont understand why the coaches continue to play them. Lewis career seems very bleak at this point unfortunately and hopefully Bush can get out of whatever funk he is in.

Honestly, I kind of give the guy a pass this year. Dealing with a hernia surgery AND his dad having cancer. That can take a toll on a person mentally. He could be distracted. And we cant sit here and say "he better get Undistracted if he wants to play here/represent the U". These things happen. Hopefully we just see him in the game and light it up, but in the meantime maybe we shouldn't question his play and just hope for the best for him and his dad.

Boom

I've thought he has looked a little better. It has gone largely unnoticed but he is kiling it on special teams when they have him in there, he looks plenty explosive. I really think its a mental thing, and its hard to blame a 19-20 year old kid who just had his guys ripped up for feeling a little tenative.

Dudes a freak, he'll get right.

Wonder why the extra weight has really slowed some players down.

I bet it hasn't. I bet it's just fans guessing based on their own bad stabs at logic that goes something like this: Player A gained weight, so Player A is slower than he used to be.

I suspect it's not as much that he's unhealthy as that he missed a lot of practice time and also isn't in the best shape but it doesn't really matter which aspect is more responsible.

Could some of it be not being comfortable handling whatever discomfort is residual to the surgery and/or being scared to tweak the injury? I have a feeling he's healed from the surgery but doesn't trust that it would hold up at full speed or still feels some tightness or discomfort when he's going close to full speed. So, he's kind of tentative in his movements as a result.

Maybe should have shirted him cause if he continues to play at this level of play it's a lost season for him that would have been better spent shirted

I don't think he is in school for 5 years. I think if he can help us now (not yet), he needs to play regardless.

Yup but if he doesn't do anything worth noting what was the point of playing this season?

First of all, you're second-guessing. No one knew it would take him this long to get back to full speed, so they kept playing him in the hope he'd play his way back to speed.

Second, if he's likely not going to use all 5 years, then why bother RS'ing him? It's stupid. If he makes 1 play that helps us win a game this year, then playing him was worth it.

So it's good to assume he'd be 100% after missing spring and fall practice and not suiting up finally in practice till what week 2 of the season? It was obvious the rust would be there not to mention he would be entering his true soph season so it's not like he was a 3rd yr player so he still had much to learn.

So far he hasn't. And my opinion he will make minimal impact. Lost season

You're displaying limited intellect on this issue. You're calling it a lost season when it's only half finished, which makes you either omnipotent or dopey. The coaches trust the doctors and the kid. The kid wanted to play, and the doctors cleared him. Last year, he was our best DB as a freshmans, so you want to play your best players when they're cleared.

Next, you're claim that this is a lost season is odd because if he didn't play at all and redshirted it would be a completely lost season. You know **** well he's not going to be here for 5 years, so why are you so obsessed with RS'ing him? I'd swear some of you guys get wet panties over the idea of RS'ing players.

I think there was some sketchy reports that came out that suggested our 40's were down in some areas, which means jack anyway.

What I wanted to see was would the weight gain hurt our conditioning and stamina, and it clearly hasn't.

We definitely should have shirted him this year, especially considering how deep and talented we are at safety.

How sad when having a discussion and things aren't going smoothly one must rely on childish things like calling another out. Stick to the discussion on hand or hop off.

How's this lets let the season play out and assess his season and if he was better off getting in shape with a RS hitting the gym with plenty of important film room with practice time. Cause it seems being out there and not in peak shape and 100% is getting him hurt. Sound fair? Or you wanna continue a conversation that has no right or wrong answer other than opinions on one would handle the matter. Sound intellectual enough for you?

It's pretty scary knowing Rodgers is holding the fort down for us at FS. I wish Jamal Carter was ready to contribute!
