Dennis is chirping

Wait....

I never really pay attention to anything anyone says about Dennis or anything he does, because why would you aside from the commitment tweets. So this is the first I'm really comprehending.....people think Dennis Smith evaluates recruits and overrules position coaches and coordinators on who we should recruit, accept commitments from, drop, prioritize? Is that seriously what I'm reading here? Some of you believe that it's Dennis Smith's responsibility to make decisions on player personnel? This is what some of you go through life believing? Like, real life?
Dennis is Tony Montana

Oh boy they’re about to come for you.

Little known fact- Dennis was telling Alonzo Highsmith what to do. Zo was completely clueless and eventually Dennis got sick of carrying Zo's workload so Dennis fired him.

OK now that makes sense. I heard at the Heisman ceremony when Dawson was getting all the pats on the back for Cam's ascension and incredible offense, he was constantly deferring to Dennis as the true brains behind the organization. Does anyone know if Dennis can play corner?

Nah many on here think he has a LOT of power when it comes to deciding who is a take or not and who should be prioritized. Personally idk how much decision making power he has. I do trust that he rubs a lot of people the wrong way including ppl on this board that actually bring recruits to campus... Basically saying hes in a GMish type role that Zo was basically intended to be in but was never given authority in... Kinda like how Banda could over rule Rumoh on DB recruits, that's what Dennis is apparently doing for anyone good at DB right now ...
Difference was no matter what I thought about the bartender, he was actually a coach. Dennis Smith has less capacity than even Cooney or technically even baez or rumph (and you know how I feel about Cooney). Cooney is assigned to the wide receiver room as support. Baez is assigned to the wide receiver room and DB's as support. Rumph is assigned with the DB's as support(on top of each of their primary jobs being in the recruiting dept.)That's not saying they have anything to do with those rooms from a coaching standpoint. But that's their particular rooms they have insight in. Dennis Smith doesn't have anything he's assigned to other than recruiting and more in particular lining up recruits their families etc for visits. Stay in contact with them throughout their recruitment helping set them up hotels restaurants etc. I guess they think because that's who you see a tweet from with Sebastian that it means anything more than it does. The one thing meaningful he does is he's supposed to communicate with the staff, with recruits & their families, and with the collectives as a middleman of sorts whatever relates to getting NIL things done. But it's not like he has input over that he's just communicating that stuff.

This place finds a narrative and runs with it.

Then that seems to be the issue, BECAUSE he is the middle man, he necessarily is the guy that has by far the most contact with every recruit and other liaison trying to bring us guys. And if he lacks in communication or fails at certain aspect of his role, it has outsized consequences... That's basically what the issue is then. For instance @1murhurricane has been pretty positive of the trend of the roster but has been anti-Dennis due to how he handled certain DB recruitments he was bringing to the table that are now committed at top schools now playing in the CFP at positions of need.. there have been others too.

But maybe it is also the case just that Dennis has to be the "villain" role due to what his job actually is. And if the staff or actual decisions makers want to slow play a prospect, Dennis is the one carrying it out and the face of it ...

There is definitely a cabal in here that think Dennis Smith is the de-facto GM.
