It had been over a month since four-star power forward Deng Gak took an official visit to Miami. However, the Hurricanes were always on the 6-foot-9 power forward at Blairstown (N.J.) Blair Academy's mind.

After taking visits to Kansas and Florida last week, the No. 91 player in the class of 2017 decided that Jim Larrañaga and the Canes were still stops.

“I’ve committed to Miami," Gak told Rivals.com. "I think I built a great relationship with the coaches there, especially coach L.

“It just felt like I could really see myself fitting in. I think that was the best place I could see myself playing.”

While Gak felt plenty of comfort with the Miami staff and their players, he also liked the playing style. He is a thin, skilled and mobile four man who likes to play in space and have some freedom and he saw the potential to play with versatility in Coral Gables.

“Their playing style, the way they use their four men it was really got me," said Gak. "When I went there I watched practice and the way they used their fours is my game style.

"They don’t have them doing any one thing, they aren’t just in the high post passing or running hand offs. They are doing lots of things and have freedom.”

After arriving in the States from Australia around a year and a half ago, Gak is happy to found his college home and is looking forward to preparing for the ACC.

“It’s a relief to have this over with," said Gak. "I want to get stronger and gain wait, that’s the the goal for the senior year.”

Gak is the third member of Miami's recruiting class and their third four-star prospect. He joins point guard Chris Lykes and New Zealand power forward Sam Waardenburg as 2017 commitments.

Roster is going to be nothing but blue chips at some point in the near future

This was surprising thought he was leaning somewhere else other than miami. Staff has shown they can close on whoever they want with Bruce brown, Dewan huell and now gal in the last few classes

Just need Lonnie Walker and Lance Thomas to finish this class off

Marone

How many ships do we have left for next year?

One. We are set on bigs now. It was either Gak or Thomas. Now need to go after a 2 or a 3. Lonnie Walker is the priority.

Next Year will be Newton, Brown, Vasiljevic, Muhammad, Lykes, Lawrence, Izundu, Huell, Miller, Gilmore, Waardenburg, Gak, and (praying) Walker.

Walker recently cancelled his UK visit and might not reschedule while Arizona just took another very highly rated shooting guard in Brandon Randolph. This might be a Miami/Villanova/Syracuse battle but some people have noted that Walker is looking to leave home. Syracuse has not beaten Miami since the 2013-2014 season. The weather is incomparable. If Walker commits to Miami next year will be the best team Miami has ever had. Better than 1999-2000, 2012-2013, and last year's team. I think, if Walker commits, it is a national title caliber roster.

I agree. We're done with bigs and we need a 2 or 3.

I think we have one more ship left. You go with Walker or Figueroa (if you can get either). That would be a monster class.
