Our defense finally played like it can for most of the game. Only gave up 7 points on WF’s first drive of the game.

Once Mesidor was moved to DE and Clark, Barrow and Moten played DT, we looked like a completely different defense. Porter Jr. playing outside corner was also huge, as he blanketed his receiver.

The question is, how the heck did it take Guidry and Mario this long to make these switches? Mind boggling.

Part of it was injuries.

I'm sure we didn't want to move Mesidor inside.

Simple answer: Arrogance

Defense stepped up for sure. While the offense was giving us nothing they kept up ahead of that game
Thank God that they showed up to play in that 2nd half. Cam and the boyz were looking sus for the second game in a row. Glad that they finally fed off of the defenses’ energy and played well in that 4th quarter to ice the game.

Imagine that we actually played different players and adjusted on D and that Wake shut down our O for a large part of the game. Wild
That’s the most impressive part about it. Our offense had a bunch of bad drives in a row where WF had great field position on our side of the field. Guidry playing playing players at their natural positions and blitzing their bum QB in the 2nd half was huge (PAUSE) for us.

I guess that you were too young to see Kirby Freeman play. Kirby was way worse than Wake’s QB.
hahaha. Didnt Kirby lead a drive vs FSU to win or something? I think he did... I remember when Ryan Collins spiked the ball on 4th down vs UCLA. haha. I ve seen them all since 1983
