No question relationships remain important, but still believe NIL money has and will impact recruiting. Again, point is dont care if the DC hire is a great recruiter or not. Let’s get an adult in the room who can coach.
Well we can disagree there. I’d rather have a good dc that’s personable and recruits well.

We’ve both said it matters , maybe not like it did but it still matters. So why wouldn’t you care about something that matter’s?

If relationships aren’t important still why do 7 v 7 coaches get broke off by big programs ? Why do HS coaches still get hired in recruiting dept’s or on field positions ?Why are kids going to Hartline for less money ?

It’s much better easier to deal with a kid when there’s somebody they trust or have a relationship with on the other side.

I agree.

Go back and watch the Texas ASU game, the way the Texas defense played, particularly the back 7 was super impressive.

I miss Miami having a dominating defense 🥺

There’s a reason it’s drug out a little bit. I will say one of the names I’ve heard will come out of left field. One name y’all will know and like I said the other will leave you saying “ I didn’t see that one coming “.That’s all I have.
Clint hurtt the name we know

No matter your profession, relationships matter. CFB is a people business and the better one is at building relationships on any level, the better the team will be

Nicholas and every defensive coach should be gone too.. hopefully soon

he is not good. go back to fsu.

cool videos on twitter of you yelling but we need better
Nicholson and Chevis will most likely stay on the staff unless the future DC calls for a staff overhaul. They are both actively recruiting for Miami and are visiting schools.

A Chevis annoucement would've happened around the same time as Guidry, he's staying on the staff unless the new DC doesn't want him.
Is that why Big Joe just left and not the same time as Guidry? Trying to keep up here.

Maybe, just maybe, Mario is letting guys find roles without firing them to let them save face. Guidry had to be fired for performance or lose the fanbase. Most fans couldn't tell you the name of position coaches, but a lot more know the coordinators.

Great, let’s get a DC with a personality who can recruit, but first box to check is a sharp guy who can scheme and coach an elite defense. No reason can’t surround DC with recruiters.
Are kids going to Hartline for less money? If so, it’s probably because he and OSU are the best at putting receivers in the league.

I really hope that’s not true. He had a bottom 5 unit in CFB. Get him the **** out of here.

I will cut him slack on the recruiting side since he has only had a year but the DBs looked like they hadn’t received even one minute of coaching. That alone should get him fired.

We are at a point where NIL is flowing from every direction, so what is the tie breaker? Due to evals, players are getting what they are worth. So if another team offers the same amount as Miami, does a player go to the other school or to the coach he has a good relationship with?

Johnny Nansen: https://texaslonghorns.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/johnny-nansen/3446

He fits the description: 25 years of coaching experience. 2 years calling plays at Arizona (2022 + 2023). Also Samoan so replaces Big Joe in that regard.

Can someone dive his 2-years as DC at Arizona?
Nansen is a smart dude and very versatile scheme wise. A lot of stuff he likes to do coverage wise Texas has implemented this year. He is more of a cover 3 guy that uses the 4-2-5 mostly. But he runs things according to what the offense does.

He brought the dollar Tampa 2 3rd down package to Texas where he moved the cb barron to LB. We haven’t had creative stuff like that. He will run some 4-3, 3-4, 5-1. It all depends on the offense
