Tim Banks was nearly fired himself until he had one of the best DL in college football this year. Another guy that specializes in secondary and has a terrible secondary play. No.

If Elko doesn’t want Santucci at A&M, I don’t want him. There’s a reason he didn’t take his protégé with him.

That would be so on brand from this program tho. Can't remember who we hired as a coordinator a couple of coaches back but it was mentioned that it was in part due to the success they had against us. I wanna say it was Pat Nix at GT.

Wasnt it reported he tried to and santucci rejected him? Anyways seems like santucci is going to TAMU and not here from what gaby just said on 247 so we probably should not worry about him as the dc hire.

Don’t care for Santucci, but according to Jackson, TAMU is in play for him so 🤷🏾‍♂️

Then Elko went and hired Jay Bateman to be his DC :confused:

That is a solid take -- if his old boss is or isn't interested could be an indicator. Elko may have wanted to see him do it away from him.

What I am sure of is: If we hire him, it will 1000% be spun here that Elko wanted him badly, Mario stuffed him in a locker and we got our guy. If we don't hire him, it will be Elko also did not want him, so we made the right call. Also, if we hire Mel Tucker or Patty Fitz, it will be because clearly Mario is Saban and learned his ways of coaching rehab.

Schiano beat Mario’s *** in a bowl game. Has to count for something.

PLUS he has the Laying on of Hands from Butch Da Gawd.
