In my opinion because its not a fact, I feel he would of got PS2 and Tyson and Jobe but thats my opinion. @Brooklyndee how would butch have closed, better to ask u than anyone else.

I hope that’s Bs, Wtf does Florida have to offer him?? another 4-7 season for consecutive years and a chance at getting drafted 2nd round like Quincy Wilson?? I can understand the Clemson and Oregon hype and even USC hype but If this kid seriously has Florida over Miami. He probably doesn’t have that Canes mentality to begin with.

I'm friends with Butch....have been for over 24yrs....Butch would've closed on one of two...Butchs DB Resume wipes its *** with ANY Georgia or Bama can produce....
 
Butch was a F-ing SAVAGE on the trail....From 84-88 when JJ really wanted a kid.....he sent Butch....What he did in recruiting from 95-2000...against Ridiculously tough odds....will in my opinion never be duplicated considering the circumstances....Convincing Kids to come to a school that JUST got hit with 31 Schollies...(11 right away) with a Bowl ban and no TV for a yr....A National Publication calling for UM to Drop FB....and the Murder of an up and coming LBer, is NOTHING short of Miraculous.....

Exactly.....Miami is already recruiting and developing 1st round dbs......the problem is Miami needs to concentrate more on doing the same with the OL...

Come on. Nobody else wanted those 2 DTs. TTR was a head case that got kicked out of Last Chance U for fighting. And Humphrey would only go to a school that would take his 2 star brother.

I like Butch, I wanted him as HC until Richt became available. But he hasn't gotten a single kid at FIU that any major program wanted, so let's not twist reality here

Look where he's at......Man had 25 1st Round Picks from 95 to 2004.....Show me ONE coach in NCAA History that can say that?...AND 90% Balled like ****'s un the NFL...including a few HOFers....
 
**** Right I wanted Butch....No F_cks Given if people disagree....BUT.....There would have been some stipulations.....
I'd have gave Butch a 5yr Contract at 20 Mill
But that he'd Groom an eventual replacement during his tenure....Say what ya want....I truly believe Butch would've had a better staff in place by yr 3.....Diaz could've been Butch's DC....But his *** would've calmed down on his Blitz Insanity....and Butch Would've lost his MFing mind on the middle of the field being open alot....Of course there would be an OC.....and wouldn't be surprised the eventual HC....

Still would love to know what dee thinks as far as closing in 18. I know its overand we cant change whats happened vut still would like to know whathe thinks.

Re DeAndre Baker, did we recruit him? I know he was a mid-3* from Northwestern, but don't really remember his recruitment.

Funny that of all the highly recruited DBs UGA has and has had over the past few years, he's no doubt the best and almost certainly will break their school INT record

Which is y I wanted him back. I like and respect Richt; but to be at Miami, to deal w these kids, u gotta be cutthroat. Davis is from that cloth.

Butch had his way of making you understand how important you were to us while still telling you ill beat ur *** every time u cross us if u dont come. Itll be 4 years of **** u from us. Butch and jimmy had the same line. It was "either come get on this train or get ran the **** over by it..." and u knew he was dead ****** serious when he said it. Cmr is slowly getting back to making kids realize the value of a scholarship to us. You gotta realize though recruiting is a whole different animal now with the emergence of social media. It used to be about your connections to high school coaches throughout ur network. Now theres no such thing as a real hidden gem. Obviously theres kids who still get slept on or emerge later due to various reasons. But now kids can simply hit whatever coach they want up on twitter now. Scouting kids is virtually non existent. Its the reason people like butch are dinasaurs now. Because this generation relates to each other in different ways than it used to... besides that with social media its made conferences like the big 10 and sec monsters in a way because they have deeper pockets than most. When you have a booster network that is capable of spending whatever on whichever kid your coaches target thats hard to beat when you dont have those same resources... its why you get these 5 star loaded classes,its why the same teams dominate in recruiting and on the field. They are playing the game with loaded dice... ****em.

Ive always dreamed of what it wouldve been like if we followed through with that or d'antoni. Theres a couple of other names that we have had legit shots at wouldve made things real interesting but those 2 stand out.

Im gonna leave it at people really dont understand richt... hes got this image people think of when it comes to him that is SO FAR OFF... the man is a savage! I had respect for the man before because we have mutual acquaintances. But now that ive got to know him i love this man. There is several coaches who could be better for us but we say that because we dont comprehend the network behind these coaches. Coaches are made by their staffs and their networks. The elite coaches arent a possibility for us not only financially but because our network wontbdo the same for saban that bamas will or urbans will or tom hermans etc. Thats why i respect the **** out of the pattersons and d'antonis because they do it right year after year. We had things lined up to close to an omg level last year. What u got to realize though is that the powerhouse programs with deep pockets they have a different level they take it too once they see what position they are really in. We can have whatever kid loving us,giving us a silent etc mid season. But **** changes real quick when these squads start throwing out 6 digits,houses,high paying jobs,cars for everyone etc. We cant match that. For the people who dont comprehend that im sorry but youre not a realist and you dont understand this is a HUGE business. These kids are highly paid employees and just like in all other big business its a war for the sought after youngins. Our staff is beasts. Give them their just due.

@RichtsaCane smart isnt in cmr caliber at all. Ill just leave it at nothing smart is doing is tough when that kind of advantage is had.

I played for butch. My father is dead and butch helped me through alot of that. Love butch like a father. But 100% that situation wouldnt have been any different for butch. Not only that but with how recruiting is done these days butch cant thrive in it. He doesnt have the patience for it and cant relate to these divas.

Always believed this that social media has changed evsrything....thanks for confirming cause some people think its still the same. Hidden gems r over.....its very rare now unless a kid doesnt camp or feast for attention
