It's starting to feel like it doesn't matter what kaaya is going to do for the rest of practice, golden is going to go with heaps....
Yup. If this is Saban or a legitimate championship coach, Kaaya starts. Fat Albert strikes again. I mean think about it, a fifth year senior is running neck and neck with a true freshman. That should tell you all you need to know about the lack of skill of the 5th year senior. Heaps is a Kansas reject...effin Kansas?!?!? 2-10 Kansas!!!!
Both Coley and Golden said they were going to rotate the QBs with the first team during week one. That's what we've seen so far. I'm a big Kaaya fan, but do you really think both Coley and Golden have made their conclusions after four practices - and they're not on the same page? You don't name a freshman as starter after few days in shorts and helmets. Let's see what develops.
no but you can tell by the way golden talked about heaps through the media yesterday with his above average performance from thursdays practice. H
Through the first three days, coach Al Golden said Heaps has been a “pleasure to work with.”
“Just a complete understanding, poise, experience, very coachable, not an error-repeater,” Golden said. “Anything you correct, he gets fixed.
“Glad he’s here. Mature, grateful, and doing a great job trying to bring it all together for us.”
Today kaaya went out and put on a show showing everything that you would want from a Senior qb such as looking off cbs, capitalizing on offsides by the defense, and having pinpoint accuracy for the most part. No turnovers and handled pressure well by throwing it away or finding the right guy to dump it off too.
here is what golden said,
“Just do what he’s doing. Command of the huddle. Continue to be more vocal. I think that’s the one thing Jake Heaps is right now. He’s vocal. He’s not afraid to get into, get after other guys and communicate and be loud. Yet heaps threw 2 picks on the day and almost threw two more that should have been interceptions. Also had some fumble exchanges with running back and out of shotgun and was sacked a couple of times. When pressured he made horrible decisions. I dont see what golden is seeing in heaps right now that brad cant do better. He is louder? dont give me that sh*t. Who puts us in the best situation to win games... kaaya should start especially since he has clearly outperformed heaps throughout this week. I hope kaaya forces golden's hand through his play in scrimmages....
AJ Highsmith........
Think about that.
