DAY 10 PRACTICE THREAD

Wait I thought anyone who hasn't played in a game yet is not allowed to be interviewed?

Was thinking the same thing but I guess they are considering the scrimmage as a game or something. Definitely remember that being said though. I guess they are trying to sell some tickets this year

Am I the only one tired of seeing some of these guys with black jerseys that clearly aren't going to start. I mean Harris over Tyriq and AQM is just ridiculous. And the walk-on Fentress over Grace or Owens is just stupid. I really don't get it.

You're saying a motivational tool, overused, doesn't work to motivate anymore?

Huh.

I think you might be obsessing over something that means nothing to us. This is an internal thing to motivate or to acknowledge good work. Who cares.

I bet it does still work. If I had a black jersey and lost it I would be ****ed and bust my *** to get it back. As much about pride as it is about motivation, IMO.

Funny how dudes whose only access to the program is from behind a cpu feel informed enough to opine on what works with the players and what doesn't.

It's pretty obvious isn't it? Every school does something like this. It's just a way rewarding effort and solid play. If you never don't throw the backups a bone then the starters get complacent because there is nobody to push them. This kind of stuff is so ridiculously common throughout football that it's crazy to knock a coach for doing this.

I had ne'er noticed the black name text on black jerseys

Uh. Crawford looks like he's been hitting the weights hard.
Bob Sanders II (I hope)

Went to school with Bob. One of the **** freakiest athletes I've ever seen. Fastest sumbish you can imagine and ruthlessness that was borderline scary. I think Crawford has that same mentality if not quite the athlete Bob was. Still remember all us guys getting together to watch Bob the first time and he basically made Ricky Williams (Texas Tech) tap out he hit him so viciously so many times.

I know....cool story brah

Golden said Dallas was working hard in the weight room after the season.

And I think that could be a good comparison ceiling for Dallas.

Pretty sure Bob ran the fastest 40 time at the combine the year he came out. Dallas just doesn't have that type of explosiveness (not many did). I'm 5'10 and was definitely taller than Bob by quite a bit but he had 20lbs of pure jack on him and I am no stranger to a weight room. He was a freak.

U guys I understand its motivational and all, but these guys that most likely will only see special teams are starting in practice reps. They are taking away first team reps from guys like Grace and Owens, which is unacceptable. I mean would u guys be happy with Gray Crow getting first team reps at QB this late into the offseason? It's the same thing, just a little more extreme.
Also the reason they said Harris has been doing well is because he "doesn't make mistakes". That's so the attitude of this defense and it's annoying to me. It's not because he's "making plays", it's because he "doesn't make mistakes". Maybe that's just me though. Also idk who Bleakverb is

I agree, and that is why our D sucks.
