Day 1 Spring Practice Discussion (photos, videos, reports)

You've researched visors?

Dude came out spitting fire about visors. He heard "visor" and was like Curly hearing Pop Goes the Weasel. Started spinning around in circles on the floor and got up and punched out some old lady who was unfortunate enough to be sitting next to him at Starbucks when he read the post. Someone had to run in with some Windex to calm him down.

I appreciate his conviction to the cause. If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything, and this man is standing for visors...and this board is better for it.

The solution is simple: take Chick out on obvious passing downs. Shayon as well. Golden's recruited about 50 guys who can rush the passer.

Actually, you should slide chick over to DT on obvious passing downs. Play him and porter at the DTs and have McCord, Hamilton or Figueroa at DE applying pressure and we will have a pass rush.

I think they did this at the end of the year last year and got some push...but we have got to do better...13 sacks...there are DE's that have double digit sacks

Are you versed in the green plastic visors the old dudes in Vegas wear when they're playing poker?

There is no sunshine in Sunny's life. Does he ever smile?

He will smile when he's in NFL making big time money to take care of his family back in Nigeria.

Visors on the players=we back

they need to go back to using the Oakley visors we had on last yr! and during the 2001 championship
The team didn't use Oakley visors last season, they used Nike. Since Nike started making visors, Miami has used them due to their apparel contract. back in 2001 Nike did not make visors (neither did Adidas or Under Armour) so teams were free to use what they wished.

no we actually did use oakley visors last season. if you look at pictures you'll see that they are more reflective and have more of a curve than the nike ones. it looks like a bubble and the nike ones look very flat
also, the visor tabs have no logo because of our agreement with Nike.
i had a friend on the student equipment team that told me that they were using oakleys last season (they still send a bunch to the team) and that they are better than the ones nike sends.

2/3 years ago we had a mixture of nike AND oakley visors. JoJo Nicolas and kelvin cain would use a nike before and Sean spence, travis benjamin (when he wore a visor), laron byrd, denzl perryman, duke johnson, allen hurn, malcolm lewis, tyrone cornelius, eddie johnson, and deon bush are some players that had oakley visors. RayRay switched from a Nike to an oakley while he was here. Jacory also started with an Oakley (with orange tabs i believe), switched to nike his junior year, and had oakley his senior year. If you look at the raising canes "first day in pads" video from last year you'll also see Duke with a bronze colored oakey visor that nike doesnt make.

But i do know for a FACT that we did use Oakley visors last season.

visors are a favorite/pet peeve of mine so i've done the research and kept up with the players and what brands every season. yes i know its very nerdy

how many children do you fit in the truck of your car?

Cornelius so slow at recognizing the screen :ohlord:

That's why he's a backup

Easy to see why.. poor diagnosis or lack of film study...... maybe both

To be fair Perryman is at the same depth that Cornelius is on that play and reacted to it at the same time. Cornelius was actually dropping to keep depth with the slot WR on the play. People like to rip on Tyrone, but he's doing what he's supposed to do on that play. It was a well timed screen. Bigger question is even if it wasn't a screen shouldn't someone have the back out the backfield?
