David Gilbert update

Chickillo is a fine player in Bicho's eyes. Just not a pure pass rusher. More of a rugged energy and effort guy.

McCord will hopefully improve a lot. Bicho is concerned when he watches him though he looks a lil clumsy and finesse out there. I know he's not physically ready weight wise but I'm not sure I see explosion off the edge with him.

We could have really used Bond this season as just a pure edge rusher.

We are just having trouble expecting too much from young D-Lineman. Name the last Freshman d-line we had make an impact before Chick.....It doesn't happen every day. It takes 3 years to get your body ready for the trenches for 90% of D-1 Lineman. Our guys with experience were Porter who couldn't play, Shayon Green, Luther Robinson, and David Perry. So when guys like McCord that obviously need a redshirt are having trouble playing through contact, they get criticized.

Let this thing play out. We know what happened last year. I'm going to look for improvements this year and then make an updated opinion about the state of affairs on D-Line.
 
We need this kid whenever he can make it to South Florida. He would help immensely against UiF even on just passing downs.

Everyone loves McCord. He's just a young light weak dude who shouldn't have played last year. In an ideal situation, he should be a RS FR this year and barely play this year.

I keep hearing how he led the team in sacks. How many did he have? Leading our team in sacks last year is like being the skinniest new contestant on "The Biggest Loser".

I think we'll be better this year. Deeper, a little bigger, bring back our best players and add a few more.

King was another freshman trying to play against a bunch of men in the middle. Yet another dude who has been unfairly judged too early.

Go put your diarrhea puddle next to a pile of firm **** and ax passersby which one they like better. I'm pretty sure they'll have trouble picking which one they like better. The stool comment was from the point of view of the observer, not the extruder. Dig?

Look chick is a high motor energy de very similar to werner from fsu. Werner was not very explosive either but had a great motor and technique if chick can master technique and shed blocks at de he could get at least 7-10 sacks. Also i think in pass rush situations they should let chick rush from the inside he is 270 now(also hamilton) and let mccord,gilbert,aqm come off the edge.

Just wondering, if the true soph version of guys like Kevin Patrick or Darren Krein( yeah, I took the easy way out with the white guy comparisons) were surrounded by last years talent at UM, how good would they have been in similar situations?
 
Being that Gilbert has classes to finish up before he graduates.... What are the chances he continues to workout on campus at WI, and the coaches there see that he's healthy again, then decide to give him another shot to finish his career a Badger?

Not going to hold my breath with this kid.
 
According to Wisconsin's website, summer classes end August 9th but graduation isn't until August 25.
